Helping from afar
Between her work,
parenting
or being away from our son, and not balancing life in general her mental state keeps deteriorating. I am trying to be supportive and loving, but she keeps pushing away.

4 year old and waiting for turns
I have done so much research, therapy and learning when it comes to my own ADHD and now
parenting
my 4 year old with it. I am at a loss now. He wanted to to do gymnastics, but the class isn't set up well for him.

Not again, please!
I’ve just had 16yrs of feeling rubbish about my
parenting
, was just at starting to feel a bit better about it as the eldest has improved a lot, and now this. I’m seeing my key worker today and will ask her to remind me who the kids social worker is as they might be able to help.

Medication
I have tried a lot of
parenting
strategies to deal with behavioral issues and there is nothing that works consistently. I feel at times like a very bad parent especially when other people make certain suggestions around discipline. I am a single mother so it gets tough sometimes.

Hi - Introduction
I am a Mid 30's Trans Woman (Lesbian) - no Op, pre-hormones, exploring advice and support around
parenting
options - including co-
parenting
. I am also exploring advice, support, and information about donating to help others - for example fertility issues, known donor vs no contact.

ADHD/Impulse Control Help
I have tried all of the positive
parenting
/safe space stuff too. I feel so defeated by this boy and have no idea what to do. Its really embarrassing...I feel like I need to quit my job because child care situations are awful.

Mother/daughter trying to heal.
I recently wrote her an apology because depression anxiety and PTSD symptoms interrupted my
parenting
of her. I gave her a description of what the events that occurred in certain things that I was particularly or rather specifically sorry about saying or doing. So today I hear her response.

Boston ADHD Parenting Support Groups
I'm searching and most have links that go to 401 Error and phone numbers that are no longer in use. Is anyone aware of live or virtual ADHD interactive support... not just social media groups or podcasts. Thanks for Boston ideas!

My kids add to my anxiety
I do 90% of the
parenting
and again, I have to lose my mind to make anything happen. I already feel like a sub-par dad, but having to yell makes it sooooo much worse. there's other factors, but i'm at the point where there's so many factors that I can't deal with it.

Other than that, my depression during the day dampens my spirit and makes it hard to get chores done and give supportive
parenting
to my two living children. I'm trying to exercise a lot of gentleness and self-compassion.

To try medication or not.
We’ve tried many times to just try to leave her to settle alone as we felt it was just our
parenting
, but it absolutely doesn’t work and a few minutes holding her hand isn’t a big issue. It settles her. So we do it. Mealtime wise, we learnt a while ago that she’ll sit well on a swivel chair!

Favorite podcasts, books, websites, Instagram...
I keep reading posts where people share valuable resources for
parenting
a child with ADHD. It would be great if we started one post that includes all our favorites (if that's "legal" in this community setting.) I like the ADHD Dude on Instagram.
