Morning cough
Hi folks hope you are all doing as well as possible. I was diagnosed with copd a few years ago and never had any real problems except the odd bronchitis flare and treated with antibiotics . In November I caught a cold and had 3 lots of steroids and antibiotics. My question is I now have a morning cough

Clenil inhaler side effects
My 6 year old was recently given the Clenil inhaler to try for 8 weeks for his persistent cough. We have been trialling it now for 6 weeks. He is taking 2 puffs 2 x a day. It has worked wonders for the cough but after about a month he bizarrely started having sleeping problems. He’s never had trouble

An update on my wife. With a question...
Hey everyone. I hope everyone is doing well and a sincere thanks for the time everyone took to reply to me about my wife. She finished her antibiotics Sunday evening and her phlegm has gone from luminescent green to clear. So that's a result first of all so far. Energy levels have slowly increased

Do you have a lung condition?Have you changed to a lower-carbon inhaler and found it works well for you?
As part of a piece of funded work Asthma + Lung UK are doing with NHSE on lower-carbon inhalers, we’re creating a short storyteller video, featuring someone who has had a positive experience of changing to a dry powder or soft mist inhaler. If you’re not sure what inhaler you have, you can find out

'It was only viral meningitis'
This is the sentence I have had said to me 100 times since going to hospital for 5 nights back in july 2022 for meningitis. I have constantly felt as though I should be grateful and have been told how lucky I am for still being here - which I am but I was discharged as soon as physically possible and

COPD - ANYONE HAVE HELP WITH WASHING/DRESSING ETC
Hello. I was diagnosed with Emphysema back in 2018 and then in 2019 with COPD. Supposed to have had a yearly review but because of Covid this didn't happen until last month. The COPD has progressed somewhat. Now on 2 Inhalers and Steroids. Does anyone else find that they need help with washing

Changing from MDIs to DPIs for the environment
It concerns me when I read up the plans to change to dry powder inhalers (DPIs) that the patient's voice and experience seems not to be included in the discussion. I am all for being more environmentally friendly, but at what cost to at least some patients? 1. In 2019 I was swapped from Symbicort,

*Long post* alert 📢 So, about 5/6 hours after the consultant told me on Monday that my asthma's fine because it hasn't flared since September, my body decided to prove him wrong and I've spent a week having constant mini - and one not so mini - asthma attacks. Bronchiectasis, green phlegm and fever
Hi, I wondered if people would be happy to give my their feedback on constant green phlegm. Mine is never clear and there all the time, I have to do clearance most days. I use a Qvar steroid inhaler and try not to take antibiotics. My lungs are sensitive to everything, dust etc. I was at a shielding

Upset about inhalers
I have had asthma for 15 years. It’s badly managed and causing me to experience constant wheezing and coughing. 95 oxygen sats. The problem is my surgery keeps giving me powder inhalers. I don’t like them. The powder ends up on my tongue (I have a big tongue !). I can’t get the technique right and

It was 13 years ago I had my Heart Attack, I seem to be well stabilised on my present drug regime having been under the hospital Cardiologist for 2 years as a chest X ray for breathing problems then showed up the chance of heart failure. Luckily it was a false alarm and with adjustments to my drugs was

Taste
Hello, Have recently gone back onto a combination inhaler, Symbicort 100/3, and find that whenever I take it I get an unpleasent aftertaste in my mouth. This occurs even with using an Aerochamber and washing my mouth out afterwards. Anybody have a similar experience or have some advice? Many thanks

RTI and blood oxygen levels
Yesterday I went to see a gp , since Friday I’ve had an awful productive cough, been needing to use my inhaler to relieve my symptoms, I’m on antibiotics for 10 days as I have a respiratory tract infection . If I’ve felt a bit more unwell I’ve checked my blood oxygen and itt drops to 93 at times but

First Post. Uniquie Symptoms?
I have read now for 2 years and 3 months. At first I could barely follow. I wanted to thank you all. A heartfelt thank you. The information has been critical in my journey. It also helps to know that I am not alone in being abused by those in the medical field. A hematologist said to me. "Well

Bronchiectasis diagnosis.....really struggling :(
I was diagnosed with Bronch March 22 with a CT scan. I am 71 and 3 years ago I was working....walked my dog twice a day and led a very active life. I am really struggling to accept that my life now is very limited. I paid to see a Dr last August who specialises in helping people get the right treatment

I’m so confused! What do my results mean.
This was my first test, I never thought of myself having problems with breathing ever to be honest. I was in for allergy results and he listened to me and didn’t like it. I did a spirometer test and I struggled so bad. Now that it’s been brought to my attention I feel the chest tightness on deep breathes
