Doctor won't diagnose PMR
My GP has just left me on
NSAIDS
and paracetamol with physio. It's not working. How common is it to have PMR with no obvious inflammation? Also, if cortisol relieves PMR, is it fair to say that the cause of PMR is adrenal insufficiency, possibly caused by trauma or prolonged stress?

Wow, I'm y telling doctor I have so much pain from OA, and and told to take
nsaids
that upset my stomachs after taking them for years for pain But, on TV they have an injection for cats with OA for pain. WTF?Can't no one find something for humans to help with pain?

AF and Arthritis
GP has been less than helpful, I've resorted to Paracetamol and localised topical pain relief (Voltorol) because obviously
NSAIDs
are a no-no and I don't want to upset the AF.

My neph said Tylenol only, which does nothing, and NO
NSAIDS
. I have sciatica, occipital neuralgia, and upper back pain, and some arthritis. I went to a Stretch Lab, thinking that might help. I use heat, and use my TENS. Everything feels good for about 1/2 hour.

Rheumatologist refuse to believe I have PMR.
I do not know if I have PMR, but I can say prednisone works where
NSAIDS
and Tylenol do not. Frustrated.... Rheumatologist wants me off so I can get bad enough to have a repeat PET. Ok, I cannot disagree with this logic, but I need to work.

I know
NSAIDs
are a very bad idea ( my first episode was triggered by Celebrex). Has anyone been triggered by Paracetamol ? Are there any safe pain killers ? Thanks

Treatment Options??
I can't take
NSAIDS
. I've had scans etc and had laparoscopy surgery for the endo but ablation not excision due to other medical conditions. I am in more pain than ever now with no sign of relief. It's affecting my whole life and career and I'm not sure what other treatment options are available?

Muscle Relaxers?
So I think we established that
NSAIDs
we’re no-gos, with Naproxen the least objectionable and codeine as a possibility for strong pain relief, and paracetamol/acetaminophen for regular pain relief. How about muscle relaxants? Are there any that are safe with Afib? Thanks so much!

PMR vs Fibromyalgia - getting my story straight for doc's appointment.
Paracetamol doesn't touch it, though I do have some response to
NSAIDs
, but nowhere near the relief I get from pred.
Does that make sense and have I missed anything out, do you think?

Rheumatology second opinion appointment
When my husband said none of the
NSAIDs
he's tried (diclofenac, naproxen, celecoxib) or tramadol (or the mindfulness course) help with the bilateral joint pain he basically shrugged and said "Well I won't give you any of my fancy RA drugs without a diagnosis of RA" and "maybe you'll be back in 5 years

struggling - waiting to hear back from gynae
I’m on other medication which prevents me from taking
NSAIDs
and I just feel stuck. Has anyone else been through this and if so, is there anything you recommend to help with the feelings of hopelessness and like the road ahead is so incredibly long and uncertain (and painful)?

Ibuprofen Gel
I know I'm not supposed to take
NSAIDs
because of the aspirin, but the GP seemed to think it's okay. Do any of you have any advice or other information? Should I avoid alcohol whilst I use the gel?

Difflam spray (Benzydamine hydrochloride) NSAID?
She suggested using
NSAIDs
such as ibuprofen, but I have to remind her every time that I cannot take them due to my my heart condition. So she prescribed the spray instead however, doing a quick online search, Benzydamine is considered an NSAID.

When the drugs don’t work
However she is no longer allowed to take
NSAIDs
and was finally placed on pain controlling meds; slow release MST and Tramadol.

STILL ON THE BED, STILL TRYING TO DEAL WITH OUR FLAILING MED SYSTEM - NO ANSWERS
None of the
NSAIDS
are actually touching this pain except for a brief "window of opportunity". Muscles are definitely wasting. Shaking a lot, from weakness I think. But sometimes more like a tremor as difficult to get spoon to mouth without dropping the food. Messy!

Grounding/Earthing
I am going through some medical issues that normally I would take
NSAIDs
for, but because of the wisdom of this group I am not. So I looked for what else can bring down inflammation -- and grounding/earthing does that and more. I have been amazed at what it has done for my heart.

frustrated with gp re pain meds.
Ever since I had my stroke in 2018, I’ve not been allowed
nsaids
, due to the increased risk of further strokes. My then gp prescribed butec patches, which in the 5.5yrs have only been increased twice to the current 15mcg. I was given Tramadol for breakthrough pain which I don’t take too often.
