POEM?
We quite often get asked about POEM - ( stands for per oral esophageal myotomy or something similar), and the issue is often whether the POEM procedure should take place, or the more conventional Heller's myotomy that also has a fundoplication wrap to recreate the valve effect of the lower oesophageal

Hi there I’ve had the nissen 360 in 2017, coming up on 2 years now. I’ve had the chest pain, belching, gas bloat for a while now and have been referred back and due for an endoscopy end of Aug. Most recently I’ve had a sore throat (burning) and now in the last 2 days my tongue is sore (red patch centre

Pills and food stuck in esophagus
Hi Everyone, I’m wondering if any of you have had a similar experience to what I’m dealing with. I had a laparoscopic hiatal hernia repair with toupet fundoplication back in September of 2018. Since December, I’ve experienced episodes of a full feeling behind my sternum that comes along with heart palpitations

Nissen Fundoplication
I had my Fundoplication in 1998 and I know one of the main complications of this surgery is the inability to burp or to vomit. I've just gone thru a very disturbing night sick with Norwalk virus I suddenly began throwing up. I thru up for the better part of two hours. Since then I have pain in the region

Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication, post op advice
I have had the Laparoscopic
Nissen
Fundoplication
op 6 weeks ago. I am finding things difficult and still experiencing silent acid reflux. May I ask if you have undergone the Nissen op and how long is it before I see the benefits. Also, your experiences post op would be very helpful.

Nissen Fundoplication
Has anyone here had this procedure? I am currently on the waiting list, I am looking for a little more information on this? Does it make you loose a lot of weight because of not being able to eat much? Thanks, Sophie x

Hi Everyone I had a

Fundoplication /anasthesia worries Operate ...or Not
I am suffering from severe reflux which I seem to be aspirating constantly into my lungs. This has damaged my lungs so badly that I have lost possibly 65% of my lung function. Currently, my FEV1 is 0.88. and my FVC is 1.60. I cant do very much without becoming very breathless. But I try to walk on

Nissen Fundoplication
Hi I'm 1 week post op of a Nissen Fundoplicatin which treats severe acid reflux.. Having this op is what Nick started my diet. Prior to the op I had to go on a liver reducing diet. It was hard. Now I am going through the slow process of getting used to food and I'm on a very sloppy diet. You would think
