breathless after cardio version
hi I had a afib attack 3 weeks ago and was admitted for cardio version. 2 days after I felt worse, heart rate was normal but experienced numbness on left side, dizzy and nausea. Was admitted to the icu for surveillance as they thought I had a stroke. Luckily it wasn’t but the neurologist said sometimes

Tamoxifen side effects
I have a question for tamoxifen users. Not a big deal but I am curious. I am 76 and have been on tamoxifen for a year and a half. I have gray hair - quite long. The hair is thinning but my curiosity is about my hair darkening. It is turning a dark brunette. Just seems kind of weird. Anyone else had that

Continued Cardioäblation Success
I'd hoped to climb 11,500 ft/3,500 m Mt San Gorgonio that's 11 miles/18 km away from the Camp I work at as a prepcook on the second anniversary of my cardioäblation but my work schedule wouldn't allow that. I'd summitted it three times over the previous two years but I'd always driven to the trailhead

some heart issues…
Last week I went to the ER with chest pains, on recommendation of my oncologist’s office. I’m on doublet therapy (Orgovyx and Abiraterone/Prednisone), and the drug info said to contact a doctor in case of chest pains. Of course, by the time I got in there I was feeling better, but they did a EKG and

Heart Disease
I’m 70 with heart disease that I am being treated for. No heart attacks. Is the C25K plan available in a modified program for people like me or is the regular plan ok?

No thyroid
Hi, all the posts are about thyroid problems and taking levo for underactive thyroid, I'm taking levo 50mg and 75mg on alternate days. Can anyone tell me if taking tiromel or the unipharma tablets would be any use fo r someone who has had a total thyroidectomy. At the moment I feel as though I'm sleeping

Discharged ...boo!
Hi I've had my report through the post of my recent phone appointment and, as I suspected after the conversation ended ,I have been discharged from Proff Osmans clinic. Thinking about it,I'm concerned. I have had an AF event on 6/6/24 and another 30/7/24 which I was able to eventually stop with an extra

Afib and bradycardia
Hi, I have paroxysmal afib with episodes lasting about 24 hours every 14 to 21 days on average. My daily resting heart rate measured on my Fitbit watch ranges from 41 to 50. After an episode of mild but obvious palpitations it rises to about 50 but falls back to the low 40s after a few days. If I exercise

Medication not working
I’ve had rheumatoid arthritis for nearly 20years. I’ve tried, methotrexate, Arava, adalimimab, entanercept, ruituxan, filgotinib, baracitinib and a few others that aren’t biologics. The problem is, they don’t work for me. Has anyone else had this issue and if so what are you taking now. I’m at my wits

To Dial 999 or Not
Last Thursday was a horrible day. I had a message left on my answerphone from my older sister, who has slight learning difficulties. She said, "Jean I have a pain in my chest and feel terrible", then she was in tears. I immediately called her back and asked which side the pain was, it was her left. Asked

Stopped Flecainide
I have suffered with AF since 2012. At first it was paroxsysmal but in the last year it has become 'permanent'. I was taking Flecainide for many years but my cardiologist has said that since AF is now permanent there is no point in taking Flecainide to control the uncontrollable! However since coming

Problems after cardioversion
I had a successful cardioversion three days ago and I am still in sinus rhythm with a heart rate of 48. A year ago, I had breathing problems which were resolved quickly with digoxin. However, yesterday the breathing problems returned with my a tight chest, a choking sensation when walking and wheezing
