I have rheumatoid arthritis I’m currently injecting 15 mg of Metratrexate but just had all my screening including TB all come back clear so now I have the green light to start Himera but I’m really nervous of this medication!🤦🏽♀️I’m staying on the metratrexate but adding in the biologic as my disease is very active!
Could you please share with me your story’s on this medication!
Thanks 🙏🏽

aww thanks for replying and I hope it works for me just don’t want any horrible side affects!did you notice you have picked up more infections while been on it ? 😊
Nope. Everyone is different, but for me it was honestly the easiest thing to take. If you've tolerated methotrexate I'd expect it to be a breeze. Full disclosure, it did stop working for me after about 9 months and I was switched to another biologic.
No. I've not had any problems like that. I was so ill before I started it I wouldn't have noticed anyway. I was running a temperature every night and losing weight rapidly at the time. I could hardly walk and couldn't pick up a mug. It's been a miracle drug for me. I now ski, sail, cycle, garden, go walking; it's age slowing me down now more than the RA!
Aww that’s fantastic I have all the issues you mention above just not the weight loss fingers crossed 🤞 I have the same results!do you still have flere ups?
No real flare ups. Some aches and pains occasionally, but more from the damage that was done whilst jumping through the NICE pathway. That was somewhat harder in 2006 than it is now. I do still get tired though, but nothing like the complete exhaustion I had before. Fingers crossed you respond well.
Good luck with it. I was on Amgevita for a few months but was taken off it due to recurring throat infections. I'd been on etanercept since 2008 and changed to Amgevita due to being also diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis. I'm sure you will respond really well to it, especially having the added back up with methotrexate. I was unable to keep taking the methotrexate due to neutropenia. Biologics are a game changer in terms of dampening down the disease and I'm sure you will notice a huge difference over the next few months. As you can see, many people have found it very helpful. Loads of luck x
