Pred and Avascular Necrosis...
I took myself out of the Poole system, and visited a muscular skeletal consultant today, in Swanage, who has confirmed that the Pred has caused Avascular
Necrosis
of the hip, and I am suffering a collapse of the hip, hence the excruciating pain...

I am now on two crutches, and feel like singing 'no wheels on my wagon'
The Avascular
Necrosis
has 'destroyed' my left hip... yes! that was the terminology used by the Muscular Skeletal specialist, who was looking at my MRI results, which they had, kindly, pushed through for me as urgent, on the NHS..

AVASCULAR NECROSIS OF THE HIP
Hey Pollys, I was so happy to be diagnosed, a few months ago, withPMR, after 2 years of pain, and find myself, blissfully, pain free, thanks to the wonder of Prednisalone... Oh, but what a price to pay.... I took myself to A&E at the weekend because I was unable to walk due to the agony in my hip...

What's Best Antibiotic Treatment To Epididymitis?
Antibiotics such as fluoroquinolones, tetracyclines and macrolides have direct anti-inflammatory properties in the absence of infection, blocking inflammatory chemical signals (cytokines) such as interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-8 and tumor
necrosis
factor (TNF).

Undiagnosed for 17 years
I also discovered Avascular
Necrosis
, which could be the reason for the pain in my hip. If I really have this illness I feel like I am doomed. Though Canada has Universal Health Care, its not free for all of us. After I lost my family doctor in 2008, I was unable to find a replacement.

ATN Recovery?
Hi everyone, My kidney biopsy showed the cause of my decreasing kidney function to be from acute tubular
necrosis
(ATN), likely due to my Ulcerative Colitis medications. Since I’ve stopped/switched med’s I’ve seen my GFR go from 19 to 27. Does anyone have experience with ATN?

Advice please!
Almost a year ago I had to have a total hip replacement due to avascular
necrosis
. The femoral head had disintegrated and I am now a mix of titanium, porcelain and cement. Unfortunately the op left me with sacroilitis and the PMR never seems to go away.
