VETEBRAL PLASTY SURGERY FINALLY SCHED FOR NEXT WEEK
At long last. Vetebral surgery scheduled for Sept. 21.
PMRPRo,
can you please tell me about hydrocortisone cover (during surgery) and doubling up on regular Pred for a couple of days afterward? This, so I can sound intelligent when the Nurse calls. Lol. It is a local anesthetic, not being put

So girding my loins, GP's in morning,
So have an appointment with GP at 11 am tomorrow. Now this was supposed to be about pain/discomfort ? RA. Of course they are bit sneaky and lots of other tests were included, but we aren't daft are we, we check first. So Thyroid bloods , TSH 0.01 (0.27-4.20) FT4 21.6 (12-22) as usual no FT3

HRT and Lupus
I’m 44 and have just been diagnosed with lupus and sjogrens in the last couple of months- there’s an awful lot to Learn. My GP thought my joint pain and anxiety was perimenopause related, and I was prescribed Evorel patches but after a month the pain was increasing rather than decreasing and autoimmune

Decongestant ingredient in popular products does not work, FDA concludes
There have long been questions about those with thyroid issues taking phenylephrine, in any form. Including used by ophthalmologists during operations. Post ablation (1 week) and back in AFib. How often is this likely to happen over next few weeks?
Have had PAF for a few years and this year episodes became lengthier and more frequent, the latest lasting 4 weeks. Had a Cryo-ablation last Tuesday at Lancashire Cardiac Centre and was ok for a week, albeit with a few spells of ectopic beats and a very short run of AF (30-40 seconds only). Went on

Blood test help required
Hi all! Please could anyone advise me on my blood tests which were done as my hair is shedding like crazy. I have an underactive thyroid and about 8 weeks ago my GP increased my thyroxine to 200mcg as my TSH was 6 (she didn’t test anything else). Since the shedding has continued and I feel really tired

Has anyone ever been told that ablation will not work for them?
Hi all i am quite baffled as to why private cardiologist has referred me to one of his colleagues for ablation. I have been told numerous times, by nhs cardiologists, that ablation will not work to treat my afib. If fact one previous doctor said, "Ablation is out of the question due to extent of enlarged

Persistent Atrial Fibrillation
I caught a bad cold (tested negative for COVID) in November 2022 and on the day that started, I went into AFib. I wasn’t given any treatment because I was already on Warfarin due to my aortic valve replacement in March 2015. I finally saw a consultant about the AFib in May 2023 and was put on Isosorbide

Robotic surgery?
My mitral valve is deteriorating and surgery is in my future. I’m 72, in good health besides aFib and my valve. I’m interested in robotic surgery and if I would qualify. Curious what other folks experience is.

good morning everyone. Saw my doctor the other day and I am so confused. He said I have fatty liver but not liver disease. What does he mean
I haven’t got much faith in my doctor really as he has overlooked my enlarged bile duct in the past. I noticed the report so I requested another ultrasound 12 months later. The size had stayed the same but they noticed fatty liver. The doctor isn’t concerned at all but I am having problems dealing with

When to introduce ADT after RP failure
I'm progressing well on Triplet Therapy coming up 12 months after Chemo and comparing myself to my brothers situation. He doesn't belong on this advanced prostate group but I hope his cancer does not advance to the point that he does! Diagnoses Biochemical failure following radical prostatectomy

Ascites and edema gone. Belly remains.
Hope all of you are well. Quick question. Have any of you had ascites substantially decline and yet your belly remains hard and round? Will this ever go away? Walking and exercising strenuously. Lifting weights , sit-ups and walking approximately 10 miles a week. Eating much healthier. Haven’t drink
