Myocet

Hi, had my last chemo in December then been on avastin. Was taken off that as it wasn't working my c125 was rising so had last dose of avastin two weeks ago. I now start this new chemo on Tuesday. Has anyone else had this sort, I am a bit stressed. Thankyou,. Julie x

Hi ladies after the worst 3 weeks of my life I was planning my funeral.had chemo myocet 3 weeks ago and have felt worse each day.saw onc today and have made the very difficult decision to give up on the chemo.iv been having it almost non stop since diagnosis 18 months ago.i feel permanently sick, tired

I had 6 months on Myocet (caelyx equivelant) and even retried Carboplaitin alone after a 2 year break not to mention the normal frontline treatments of Carbo/taxol then Carbo/Gemcitabin.

I will probably be on Caelyx next or Myocet. Please can you tell me what which one you,ve had if appropriate. Lovis

Changed consultants and went on myocet and Avastin. (Caelyx out of production at time so similar drug. Anyway partial response. Stopped Myocet but continued with Avastin alone. This held most of the cancer except a nasty one in the pouch of Douglas.

so i finally had my last cycle of myocet and had my end of treatment scan on 22nd March to be told that i have had a positive response to chemo. YIPEE.

Started the myocet after lots if tears and worries. After gettin second opinions from America it seemed that this is definitely the way forward. My onc who is usually very blunt was fantastic after I voiced my concerns and my faith in him has been restored.

Caelyx is made of the same substance as Myocet, but is formulated specifically for ovarian cancer, and has a higher rate of success than Myocet. I've had it, and had 6 months remission on the back of it. If you are being offered Myocet ask your oncologist for information on Caelyx.

Today I was told I would be starting myocet, put it in the search box but nothing has come up. My onc said there is only a 20% chance of it working and has referred me to the palliative care team, have been knocked for 6 and could really do with some encouraging news Shabila x
