Caelyex/myocet chemotherapy

Hi, had my last chemo in December then been on avastin. Was taken off that as it wasn't working my c125 was rising so had last dose of avastin two weeks ago. I now start this new chemo on Tuesday. Has anyone else had this sort, I am a bit stressed. Thankyou,. Julie x

Hi Julie, my mum is undergoing calyex just having had the fourth of six treatments. It is her 3rd line having had carboplatin first and second line but becoming platinum resistant after 2nd line. We were told it was only 50/50 chance of responding but after midway scan we are thrilled that tumours are shrinking and c125 is down to 11, which was 165 before starting treatment, this is the lowest since 2014. Side effects minimal, sore skin, mouth ulcers but mum is coping with them. Good luck with your treatment.

Hy netted,yes I was on carboplatin, so I thought I would be on that again as it shrunk the tumor and I was ned on my earlier scan. So now going to start calyx tomorrow, thank-you for your reply and keeping fingers crossed it works for us both. Xx

I am on my third line and next week will have my third session of caelyx. Two weeks after my first session of caelyx I had a severely sore mouth and throat which lasted a week. Again this last session two weeks in mouth and throat incredibly sore and has lasted two weeks this time. I have also come out in a rash over my chest. Pharmacist says I have thrush infection. Will see oncologist tomorrow for check. I have also been incredibly tired. I could stay in bed all day. My first line was carbo,taxol, second line gamzar,carbo,avastin and now, like you, caelyx. Oh yes, the skin on my hands and feet have darkened in colour. Not lost hair though. I don't know how well it's working yet but hope it works well for both of us. Warm regards Carole H 😊

Hi cah48, I am going for my second treatment of caelyex tomorrow, had the first one a month ago. Like you I had sore throat and very painful mouth ulcer. Just about got rid of it with mouth washes and medication from hospital. I will be going for a ct scan before my third treatment, I am praying it will shrink the tumor. Like you I am hoping it works for both of us. My best regards Julie xx
