Myfortic

Does anyone know of a financial resource assistance for the medication myfortic or it generic, mycophenolic acid? Tks Lybie

The immunosuppressants I have been taking are Tacrolimus and Myfortic. The transplant center finally honored my request to switch to Myfortic last July after repeated requests to change from Mycophenolate Motifil. However, the switch has not made much of a difference.

They eventually pulled me off Myfortic. That caused my ongoing CMV issues to calm down and stabilize where they are today. However, my neutropenia persists. My neutrophils remain low. My lymphocytes remain high. I also continue to have mild anemia.

Treatment plan for current CMV flare-up: Temporarily discontinue Myfortic Increase Prograf by .5 mg No antiviral medication (Valcyte) How has it gone?

I’ve been pulled off Myfortic. They have increased Prograf by .5mg daily. No antiviral medication. They are relying on my immune system to generate the specific T cells needed to respond to CMV. They’ve tested my T cell response rate.

This specialist pulled me off Valcyte and Myfortic immediately and talked about using maribavir instead of Valcyte. (My nephrologist isn’t supportive of maribavir primarily because it’s a newer medication it seems.)

He's taking Prograf and Myfortic. Does anyone have the same problem? What did you do to address those problems? Would highly appreciate your advise. Thank you!

Suspend Myfortic for 4-6 weeks. That will elevate my WBC count more. Monitor renal function and CMV status weekly with treatment adjustments if needed. The goal is to give my body a chance to pull CMV in check using my own immune system. 2. If #1 doesn’t work restart antiviral medication.

I'm on 2mg TAC BID, 2mg Sirolimus, and 360mg Myfortic BID. I've had a stool sample and a colonoscopy to ascertain the cause but no luck.

She said she totally understood my reticence to start Myfortic and given my recent bloods and how I have felt for the last month (ie more energy and stamina) she feels it best to see if the steroids will see it off altogether this time.

However, my WBC count is now down to 1.4 They have tried decreasing the dose of myfortic and last week an infusion to bring my WBC count up. It went down after the infusion injection. Yesterday they called and told me not to take Val yet.

My local nephrologist recently suggested I ask my team to switch me over to Myfortic. Has anyone here experienced such gastrointestinal symptoms?? What did you do to relieve them? If you are on Myfortic, is this medication easier on your stomach? Thank you for any suggestions.

I received my transplant a little over three years ago, and am taking everolimus (a variant of sirolimus), prednisone and mycophenolic acid (myfortic). Recently my labs showed proteinuria (protein in the urine). I understand that this can indicate the beginning of organ failure.

I’m on belatacept and Myfortic currently. Bela because I developed a reaction to tacrolimus. I’m likely to move to Singapore next year this time and am told Bela is not available there.

I am on Myfortic, Envarsus, Prednisone for Transplant.

Just entered the fifth stage with g f r - 15 creatine - 3 and I'm very scared one doctor suggested immuno suppressive drug named myfortic, And the other nephrologist said it is pointless at this stage and I really don't know what to do !? It has a lot of side effects especially at my age of 83.

After having really bad side effects from mycophenolate l am moving onto myfortic . I thought this was the same drug under a different name ? I have looked it up on the internet ,but it’s not very clear . Does any one know ? Thank you .

I was blessed with a kidney transplant 2 months ago, and for the first time forgot to take one of my 12hr doses of tacrolimus and Myfortic last night. I took my meds as usual this morning however. I'm terrified of an acute rejection episode. What is the likelyhood of something bad happening?

I am on tacrolimus and myfortic and took Pfizer for the 2 doses .

Just started a Prednisone recycle and a Myfortic increase to treat a possible rejection episode. If my labs aren't better on Monday I'll have to go for a kidney biopsy. Wish me luck.
