PBC and nails / gel polish / acrylic
hi everyone, just a quick question.. I wondered has anyone had any issues with having their nails done with gel polish. I had to switch from gel polish to acrylic as my nails kept having a reaction to the gel - and often developed a fungal infection. Once I switched to acrylic they were much better

Heterogeneous Metastases?
I was first diagnosed Stage3 in Aug. 2014, ER+PR+Her2-. Found metastases in bones and lymph nodes in Dec. 2023, bioposied one node, same biomarkers. I was put on Tamoxifen which shrank many lesions, except for one. After that, I went through Tamoxifen, Letrozole + Kisqali, Faslodex + Kisqali, have scan

I have seen several people refer to this here, but didn't know what it was. My PET/CT scan on Friday showed some mildly alarming things -- bone met in spine is shrinking, but a bunch of subcentimeter but metabolically active lymph nodes around the lungs (hila, paratrachea, mediastinal-pleural). Not

Hi I was recently diagnosed with Fibromylgia. I have had the flu and I am struggling to recover from it. I am 2 weeks in now and I am still feeling weak, dizzy, getting bad headache and have a rasping cough. Does anyone struggle to recover when having a virus..? Thanks

Reaction to Taxol (Paclitaxel) and alternatives?
Hi- I was diagnosed with primary peritoneal cancer in Jan 2024. I had my first chemo last week and reacted to the taxol (paclitaxel) so could only receive bev and carboplatin. I will be switched to taxotere for my next treatment. Wondering if anyone else has had a reaction to taxol and then received

Ranolazine (used for angina) could potentially be repurposed for PCa. Only mouse studies so far.
“Treatment of cancer patients with lipid metabolic inhibitors like ranolazine could potentially re-activate the immune cells to restore and enhance cellular-mediated antitumor immunity and tumor regression.” Targeting Fat Oxidation in Mouse Prostate Cancer Decreases Tumor Growth and Stimulates Anti-Cancer

High risk vs. aggressive cancer
I understand the definition of high-risk prostate cancer (Gleason, PSA and/or spread), but that doesn't necessarily seem to be the same thing as aggressive cancer. How can aggressiveness be determined for high risk, localized cancer? Thanks for any insight and information.

Mild TI inflammation
Hi, I've just had my third colonoscopy and I found it very painful. I was in agony during various times of it being done. I managed to get a report (some pictures this time too!) On the report they wrote for the procedure discomfort: Mild: More than 2 episodes of discomfort without distress. On my report

Anyone? 😁
LOL I’m popping on here, again, for your honest opinion and advice. I have been OFF all forms of treatment since the beginning of January (when I was told there was evidence that Ibrance and Anastrazole were failing). A brief stint with Xeloda (for 6 days...6 days of pure torture)…and to tell you

P.AFib and Covid
no doubt this question has been answered a few times but since showing positive with Covid this morning I have had two episodes close together which is unusual. Should I just go with them until my Covid test is negative and then see what happens? All your experiences will help me decide. Thank you.

Recovering after hospital stay
I’m wondering if anyone can tell me what to expect next. I had Covid at the end of January. I felt very flu like for a couple of days then okay for a few days. After that I got a cold and a chesty cough. The cough was only occasional. At the end of last week I started to feel flu like again. I decided

unsure
thank you all for your responses on my last post. I am feeling better, but still congested. My boyfriend wants to come over but I’m so fearful I’ll get him sick, or that I actually have Covid and I’ll give it to him. I could go buy more Covid tests, but my friends told me that I shouldn’t because then

Coughing and AFib
I've been down for several days with what seems to be the flu (4 days of negative covid testing) and one of the most persistent symptoms has been a bad cough. I went into AFib a couple of days ago but blamed it on the fever. However, no fever today, but just went into AFib again. Anyone else have this

Now been advised cancer has spread to both lungs 😔
Spoke to my consultant yesterday, it seems my nurse specialist had not given me the correct information. Cancer signs are now on both lungs, in my peritoneal area, and under my spleen (not the spleen itself). I am getting some pain in my lung area and it's really worrying me 😔 Surgery is still

My Grim anniversary, Vaccine Type and Timing
With multiple fall vaccines now in use it seems timely to share our experience and advice on the timing of them. This has been discussed briefly in various threads. I invite comments on the below: In the past there was just an annual flu shot and its timing was just "sometime in the fall". No other

My dad graduated from ICU today! Severe Pneumonia
Hello, Everyone: I have posted here about my dad who is in his late 70s. At the end of August, he was admitted to the hospital to remove a small benign cyst from his throat and two days after the surgery, he choked on water and yogurt that were served and developed aspirational pneumonia. Since it
