Is this lymphedema?
Hi all Happy New Year! In 2004 I was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer with lymph node involvement on the right hand side. After lumpectomy, mastectomy I had chemo followed by radiotherapy for 6 weeks. I went back to work shortly after finishing radiotherapy, it proved too soon and I didn't feel

post-prostatectomy incontinence and ED
I had a radical prostatectomy in April 2016 performed by Dr. Jean Joseph at Univ. Of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital. I was very fortunate that this very skilled and expert surgeon was able to spare my nerves so I am not impotent but still have some degree of ED. I have a pump which I rarely use

Post radical prostatectomy
Well it's Saturday and on Wednesday I had robotic surgery to remove my prostate at a terrific place in NYC. So far the pain and discomfort is worse than I expected and I admit to being grateful for opiate pain killers. Now it's a rough 6 days, ahead before the catheter comes out and then the next phase

Itching Post-Mastectomy
I'm post bi-lateral mastectomy about 16mos. Sometimes I get the most severe itching on the right side of my chest. Also, I feel the zaps of pain & itching around different areas of my chest. I had implants removed. I experience numbness & tightness in my chest area. Dr's all say this is normal nerve

Hyperparathyroidism and breast cancer
Happy Boxing Day everyone! I'm wondering if anyone has experience of high PTH levels and High calcium? I am post mastectomy and now on Tamoxifen but the GP and the oncologist have referred me to an endocrinologist now to check my parathyroid glands. I'm also due a bone scan. I'm ok about this and

Fuming!
I am absolutely fuming! Brief background: Diagnosed with PMR in June 2017 and prescribed 15 mg Prednisolone plus Adcal D3. Had tender, swollen vein in left temple but did not realise significance at time. Having found this site, had confidence to question doctor when told to reduce from 15 to 10 mg and

INFORMATION ABOUT ADCAL D3 tablets.
I have been prescribed these tablets. Like some of you I would like more information about why Spinach, Rhubarb etc., are banned when taking these tablets. This may seem like a silly question, but are there any other vegetables such as brocolli, sprouts etc., safe to eat. Its stupid saying what you can't

Xtandi and Increasing PSA
My father has Been on Xtandi, since September 20 2017. (3.5mo) his PSA is going up and his last reading was today 14. Sept 4.1, 6.44 and now 14!! I guess it’s not working and his cancer is not responding to it. Anyone else have this happen? What did your oncologist do? Take you off, or continue to try

Today is six years since my initial surgery for a left sided mastectomy. I remember feeling scared, confused and unsure if my future. I was relieved when the surgery was over and then began the battle! Four months of chemo, injections for the tissue expander, another surgery for reconstruction and then

Goodbye Alendronic Acid
I was prescribed AA in Jan 2014 when my GP diagnosed PMR. Having started on 40mg Pred I reached 4mg in December. Iasked my GP about giving up AA, and she said no, so I asked for a DXA scan. This happened before Christmas, and I was told that the result would be with my GP in 10-15 days. Yesterday I received

Metastatic PCa [mPCa] & Radical Prostatectomy [RP].
New meta-analysis below. The old view is that mPCa requires systemic treatment, & that a RP adds no value & simply increases morbidity. The new view is that cancer debulking can make the disease more manageable. If so, there should be a survival advantage. From the new paper: "The recommended therapy
