Implant and reduction/lift surgery while on Ibrance
I have Mets to bones’ ER PR positive HER negative. My oncologist wants to keep me on Ibrance even though I’m having my implant exchange on the mastectomy side and a lift/ reduction on healthy breast to match. Has anyone stayed on Ibrance before, during and after surgery? I’m concerned with healing.

Has anyone had success with Keytruda and then stopped treatment?
I was first diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2016. During the first year, I had a nephrectomy, cystectomy and prostatectomy along with other treatments. After all that, the cancer had metastasized to my lung. I began chemotherapy and after a year, the tumors had diminished, but my remaining kidney

Am I Petty?
Am I petty? Seriously, if I am, I apologize, but here’s the thing: Last year my husband and I were visiting my father-in-law in another state, after he had a heart attack. My mother-in-law died shortly after Scott and I were married. She had breast cancer and this was decades ago when more died then

Ratio of periprostatic to subcutaneous fat thickness on MRI is an independent survival predictor in hormone-naïve men with advanced PCa
New study from Japan [1]. Visceral fat is associated with a poorer prognosis. Visceral fat is hormonally active (& not in a good way.) Many researchers who have reported on obesity & PCa mortality, acknowledge that BMI (body mass index) is a surrogate for visceral fat. However, one can be thin outside

A difficult customer
Hello i've just joined this group so will summarise my experiences. I have a very understanding oncologist who has been very supportive but also refers to me, not always in jest, as her "difficult one". The reason is that I have rejected most of what is referred to as Standard Care here in the UK. I

Why no mention of RLS
A long detailed and intelligent article on medical cannabis appeared in The Observer today, including a list of conditions that could be helped by its use. RLS was not on that list. Tragic.

Phlegm when eating
Hi Just wondering if anyone has advice. I had total gastrectomy in January due to cancer. Things have been ok since, able to eat little and often. However the past few days I feel like I’m having spasms in my oesophagus/throat, it happens at random times and is a little worse when eating. Within minutes

Radium-223 treatment in CRPC & presence of Primary Tumor.
New Italian study. Only 44 men, but .... "The presence of the primary prostate tumor seems to play a detrimental role in mCRPC patients undergoing 223Ra treatment in absence of other concomitant anticancer therapy. On the other hand a previous RP might play a protective role." "Discussion" "Radium 223

Mastectomy distress
Had my mastectomy last week and I’m having the dressing and last drain out tomorrow. When I went for the first check up Monday, I got very upset and couldn’t look at the scar and asked for it to be recovered until tomorrow, I thought it would be fine and I’d not care about losing the breast if the cancer

lower back pain and right hip pain especially lying in bed
I had a DEXA scan just over 2 years ago as part of breast cancer treatment. This identified I had osteoporosis in my spine, I'm not sure of the scores or exactly where but I was told my hips are fine. I have had back problems on and off for years but generally with a visit to a chiropractor and exercise

Anyone out there with recurrent non-metastatic breast cancer?
Hi everyone, I'm new here and I hope you can help me. I was first diagnosed in 2009 with stage 2 IDC(invasive ductal carcinoma) in my right breast. Had a lumpectomy, chemo (ACT) and 6 weeks of radiation. In March 2013, I found another lump in the same breast. Had a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction

Further Update
Hi Following on from my previous update, I have now had a conversation with my GP regarding my follow up Dexa Scan result and it did not go well. The advice was still to take AA and this was put across very strongly. My GP is very good and I know she has my best interest at heart but I still declined
