I have Mets to bones’ ER PR positive HER negative. My oncologist wants to keep me on Ibrance even though I’m having my implant exchange on the mastectomy side and a lift/ reduction on healthy breast to match. Has anyone stayed on Ibrance before, during and after surgery? I’m concerned with healing.

Implant and reduction/lift surgery while on Ibrance
I had surgery last year and stayed off Ibrance/letrozole for 1 week before and 1 week after. No problems.
I had a lift / breast reduction on my non -affected left side 10 months ago to match my much smaller implant on my mastectomy right side which was done a year earlier, and I am happy with the result . I had it done on my week off ibrance , (my bloods were checked before the op and were fine) and I was given antibiotics for a week straight after the op and I also had 5 days of injections post op , which I did at home , to boost my wbc and to reduce the risk of post surgery infection. I did eventually get an infection in the fold under the breast ,but it was 6 weeks after the op , due to ‘spitting sutures’ but this was addressed straight away , with a week of antibiotics and all cleared up after and I continued with ibrance/ Letrozole. [“Spitting sutures “ is where the soluble stitches they used in the breast reduction operation haven’t fully dissolved and push themselves out , which caused me an irritation and then it became infected . My breast care nurse consultant used tweezers to pull out the ones still poking through and then I had the course of antibiotics].
Hope it goes well for you too x
