Nightmare with(out) flecainide. Cannot get help from NHS.
This is a follow-up to a post I made earlier this week, trying to figure out whether to take a previously unused flecainide prescription as a PIP. I was diagnosed with lone paroxysmal AF 10+ years ago (I was not quite 50) but it has not been a regular problem -- I didn't need regular meds. Due to the

anterior wall afib ablation update from April 28th
I am super excited, I had a follow up with my EP Dr. Here in Arkansas, they did tests including my pacemaker interrogation… Whooo Hooo, it showed NSR 99+%, less than 1% out, but NOT afib! Never give up, I wish I had followed Cleveland Clinic DR advice 4 years ago, following up with a 3rd ablation after

Is it bad for you to just wait out an Afib spisode.
Over the last month I went into Afib 6+ times. The first one lasted about 12 hours. The next 3 I ended up in emergency and they had to cardiovert me. The 5th time lasted 24 hours. The 6th time, however, lasted 5 days. But I was so fed up with sitting in emergency for 12 hours and getting my chest blasted

Update to private cardiology consultation.
I am really pleased with today’s appointment. I gave him a list I had typed of all my questions and he went through them one by one. He was very happy with the Kardia ecg printouts and didn’t require an ecg there. We discussed many things Af and heart related. He also reviewed my cholesterol figures

Metoprolol, flecainide and prevention?
Age 59, lone paroxysmal AF for 12+ years which I have largely ignored because it wasn't that bad. It's been 4yrs since the last major episode but I suspect I am now in low-level AF a lot. I'm guessing at this because I don't have an AF app and due to the pandemic it's been nearly four years since my

Drug side effects
Last month I went from prediabetic to hitting 300 due to the Dexamethasone I've been having to take for my chemo treatments. My oncologist put me on metformin & it brought my level down, but now I've been in & out of the ER. Once with intestinal issues, once with chronic diarrhea & shortness of breath

When is a second ablation advisable?
I was dx with Paroxysmal Afib in 2018. After the usual regimen trials of just Metoprolol, Flecainide, Flecainide with Metoprolol for rate control, etc. I received a Cryoablation on March 16 of last year (2022). I had two afib episodes a month or so after the ablation which was explained as being in

AF and Heart Parameters
I experienced AF first in 2012. It was recorded in Holter Monitoring. On medication since then. Holter Monitoring done once in a year. No episode recorded. Actually my episodes occur suddenly last for few seconds. ECG sometimes show tachycardia, Echocardiography is normal, TMT recent time is negative

Experiences with Metoprolol
I was dx with Parosyximal Afib in 2019 and, after the customary course of starting with a beta blocker - Metoprolol, which didn't work - and then adding flecainide which did help but not prevent breakthrough episodes, had an ablation on March 16 of 2022. After the ablation, I weaned off of the metoprolol

Sotalol Drug Load
Scheduled to shift from Metoprolol and Diltiazem to Sotalol this next week. Choice of yet another ablation (6th one) was given but I figured, “why keep scarring up my heart?” Did I make the right decision? Seems to me ablations aren’t working and they just manage to damage my heart, albeit in a controlled

Dosage Metropolol/Bisoprolol how low?
I recently visited my cardiologist and everything going ok, I advised him that I’d reduced my Metoprolol from 12.5mg morning and night to about 8mg. The equivalent in Bisoprolol is about .8mg. I asked if it still does something or should I stop taking. His answer was that its very small amount but it

1 week post ablation
Hi! I was diagnosed with AFib several years ago as well as atrial flutter, and PVCs . I have been on a number of meds and most recently took Flecainide 50 mg 2xday, metoprolol 12.5mg 1xday and Eliquis 2xday. I had an ablation gone 8 days ago and my EP said I could immediately drop my Flecainide

Alcohol - I Did a Silly Thing
Yesterday to celebrate my daughters 50th birthday, my son in law chartered a beautiful boat for the afternoon - 3hrs. It was wonderful and from the time we left the harbour the four of us were plied with nice things to eat and wine. Now I'd already had a drink before boarding the boat and my wine consumption
