Taken too much by mistake
This morning, I grabbed what I thought was colchicine for gout and took 3....then returned to look at container and it was my metoprolol! Called the poison hot line after trying to bring them back up (along with my other morning meds) and was suggested to contact my doctor or got to ER for monitoring

calming a fibs
So, I am having a fibs right now 9:30 at night in the USA. Heart rate went up to 137, then down to 80s 90's jumping all around. Could feel it racing and I was short of breath. My question is this: WHAT CAN I DO TO CALM ALL THIS DOWN? HOW DO I STOP THE ANXIETY WHILE IT IS HAPPENING? I just drank

Lots of Energy Yesterday
Yesterday, I felt like my old self and despite the heat worked in my garden for most of the day. Could have done more and my energy was almost limitless. Why was that you may ask? Well I forgot to take my beta blocker 25mg of Metoprolol that morning. My goodness who would have thought that medication

Prednisone taper plan.
OK, I had my first and pretty bad 41 hour AFib last Friday, Im stopping Abiraterone for at least 8 weeks, the Onco will reassess then. Im now taking Metoprolol which Abiraterone increases the effects of it. Still taking Prednisone, will start wean tomorrow. What's your favorite taper/wean plan.

A-Fib meds & Zepbound
I cannot seem to sustain a healthy weight for my age & body frame so I will be requesting Zepbound from my doctor to help, as I don’t want to go the surgical route in my 70s. I’m considered **morbidly obese** & truly, there is a lot of shame in this. Flecainide & Metoprolol control my A-Fib, & I

Do cigars seem to trigger A flutter?
70 year old male, with an occasional flutter and AVNRT, and having intermittent episodes of supra ventricular tachycardia and considering ablation rather than flecainide and metoprolol. My heart is structurally sound, no blockages and no other meds. I enjoy an un-inhaled cigar on the golf course. Has

Continued advancement with Pulse Field
In my deliberations over when to have PFA this popped up from Medtronic, see link, a new Trial of 85 patients. I've been looking at the Abbott PFA technology which had dual mapping and pulsing function which is not yet approved and works within a balloon and appears to have great accuracy. The other

Got another stent in 15 months - why and what should I do next. Anxious?
Hi, I am 61 year old living in San Francisco Bay Area and in Jan 2023, I got 4 stents (2 in LAD, 1 each in LCx and RCA). Had 50-60% blockage in distal RCA and D2 of LAD. Before the stents: LDL-C was in 70s, ApoB and LP(a) were never measured. A1C was 5.6, Blood pressure 130/80. Active - Biking 3

New to Afib
Hi All,I'm very new to Afib after being rushed to hospital late Feb with my first episode. Currently on Apaxiban 2 x daily and Metoprolol 2 x daily. I went for about 4 weeks without another episode after the initial one, but now its a daily thing. I did a light walk on the treadmill today which sparked

Metoprolol
I have recently gone from PAF to the AF being semi-permanent. I have been prescribed metoprolol which is helping but every pharmacy I contact, and also my own prescribing surgery are finding it very hard to get hold of. Anyone else have this problem? I am in UK.

Low heart rate
12 days ago my husband had a log hit him in the shin whilst splitting logs. At the time it came up like a tennis ball but other than that didn’t think too much of it. The swelling has gone down but he is getting pain in his leg. Not the leg they harvested from for his CABG x5). Eventually we decided

clopidogrel
I’m taking clopidogrel and aspirin following a Watchman implant. I feel fatigued all day, foggy—just as I did on metoprolol and did even more so on amiodarone. I also bruise more easily and bleed more flowingly on clopidogrel than on apixaban, which I stopped when I started a three-month course of

Does Flecainide Work for Persistent Afib
Hello. In February, I had a cardioversion after being in persistent afib for 5 months. While I was in NSR, I saw my cardiologist and he took me off of metoprolol and prescribed Ditilizem and Flecainide. Several days after I saw him, I went back into persistent afib, but had not yet started taking
