Post Ablation Dyspnea (Shortness of Breath) and Skipping Beats
Hey All! My quick resume follows; Diagnosed in June 2020 with Afib. Had some but relatively mild symptoms. I was on metoprolol and propafenon for over a year. At one follow up visit, a doctor decided to cut the medication and I was medication free for a year. Then during another 6-month follow up

Reactions to Flecainide and Amiodarone?
I am so glad to find this forum. Really validating to see how incredibly different people’s experiences with Afib are and the willingness to share. I’ve been in Afib persistently for a little over three months now. It returned several months after my first cardioversion, and hasn’t stopped except

Review of Top 10 Prescribed Drugs and Their Interaction with Dental Treatment
Yet another paper which hints at quite a bit - bit then is behind a paywall. If anyone has access, just knowing the outline of what they say could be very interesting. We have had many question the impact of thyroid issues on their teeth and dental treatment. [i]Dent Clin North Am. 2016 Apr;60(2):

Magnesium and afib
About a year ago, few months after being diagnosed with afib and cardiac arrest, thanks to this wonderful forum, I became a gluten free vegetarian, stopped alcohol and increased my magnesium with eating more nuts and rasberries. I have been afib free since, except for when I stopped my betablocker sotalol

Commercial Airline Flight Triggering Afib
Hello All — I was on a 1 1/2 hour flight this morning between Washington DC and Atlanta. About an hour into it, I felt palpitations and soon after we landed, I had a racing heart rate and what felt like Afib. I take 25 mg/day of Metoprolol to control ectopics, blood pressure medication and Xarelto

Bisoprolol withdrawal
Hi, I'm Beater, I'm 11 months out from aortic valve replacement and bypass. I was on metoprolol then bisoprolol then I stopped for 5 days as I was very faint. Went back on and the reinstating caused severe symptoms. Family Dr. put me on carvedilol for 1 day and that was worse so then atenlol for 1 day

Depression after Ablation
Hi all - I want to preface this post by saying this is not to deter or scare anyone from having an ablation. I think the success rate far outweighs the latter and if you’re considering one/your QOL is being affected it is a good idea. That being said I need to know if anyone has a shared experience or

Digoxin as alternative to beta blockers?
Hi I'm just wondering if anyone has experience of. taking Digoxin as an alternative to beta blockers whichI don't get on with on a daily basis as they slow my heart rate too much and leaving me feeling unable to do much. I currently take Apixaban (paroxysmal AF) and Losartan and Felodopine for hypertension

Does it make sense to stop Metoprolol after ablation?
Does it make sense to stop Metoprolol after 3 months after ablation with no Afib or is it appropriate to continue to control the heart to prevent return of Afib? My EP said I could stop and use as needed. My new Apple Watch showed 100-160 bpm during bicycling yesterday and I felt fine but just wondering

Some interesting questions. Cost of cardioversion?
Hello everybody, Here are some interesting questions. I had 4-5 episodes of AFIB about 4 years ago. It ended with me getting an ablation in December of 2018. I had been AFIB-free 3.5 years. Last week I had an episode. My heart was not beating too fast and I was not feeling too bad. That's quit different

Beast is Back
Three weeks after my fourth ablation, and advised to drop flecainide, the beast returned. (Kept on metoprolol & Xarelto). Started after an afternoon nap for no reason at all. Confirmed by nurse with ecg yesterday and put back on flecainide until appointment on Monday with ep and another ecg. I’m hoping

Anyone having this problem?
I'm taking Lisinopril 20 mg mixed with Hydrochlorothiazide 12 mg, once a day. Also taking 150 mg Pradaxa twice a day and Metoprolol Succinate 50 mg once a day. My leg muscles, on both legs, from knee to thigh feel weak and sore. I was taking Eliquis but stopped that because I thought that may be what

Am I now in permanent AF?
Just a brief introduction , I have been suffering from AF for about 5 years and after 3 ablations ,1 was for flutter, I was getting episodes every 2 to 3 weeks usually lasting 4 to 6 hours. These episodes are usually terminated by PIP flecainide and metoprolol . I’m used to them now and basically ride

Need advice. Back on A fib but feel really good!
I am a 68-year-old male that was diagnosed with a fib about five or six years ago. First it was a flutter that went into a fib. Had one ablation for a flutter and two ablations for a fib. They did not work this is when I lived in New York. I want to Dallas 4 years ago and instead of going the ablation

May the Fourth be with me!
Headed to my fourth ablation today after many deliberations. Cardioversion took care of an atrial tachycardia episode back in February. Per EP’s instructions, came off metoprolol and flecainide four days prior to today … and amazingly no Afib or flutter. In fact, feeling quite well. So wondering if I

AFib, Post Ablation, & Sex
I haven't seen this topic here and I don't know if it's within the guidelines but here goes: What relationship have folks here experienced between sex, Afib, and the post-Ablation period? When my Afib started, there was some correlation between having episodes after having had sex. Apparently, sexual

Questioning everything
This is mostly a venting so I apologize, I just need to get some things out of my head. I have been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. I've definitively and repeatedly connected it to my digestive system. In my most recent encounter with a doctor directly after I had been taken via ambulance to

Pre Ventricular Contractions Diagnosis
Hi everyone! I am new here and this is my first post/question. I was recently diagnosed with PVCs by a cardiologist. He prescribed Metoprolol but my heart beats were still 18.9% PVCs, so he recommended me to an Electrophysiolgist for ablation consideration. Now reading posts here I see that people
