Methylphenidate

I was rushed to hospital and told it was possibly an arrhythmia caused by medication I’d just been put on (methylphenidate and Mirtazapine). I was told to come off medication until my heart had been checked by cardiology. Due to lockdown I’m still waiting for this to happen.

Hello- my 5 yr old was prescribed methylphenidate 18mg (concerta). We started it this morning. An hour later he’s spinning out of control as if on speed.

I have been used different class of antidepressants from different group but all in vain, finally my Pscychatrist prescribed Methylphenidate after starting I feel much better now I felt craving for this drug, is it’s any cure for this drug addiction and also suggest me any novel any medicine which is

Dr. gave me a script for Ritalin (methylphenidate) to try and see if that helps. I basically don't get off the couch - between the pain of my C5-6 met and the fatigue. Thoughts?

He is currently taking methylphenidate 20mg. But I think it's actually starting to give him more anxiety and behaviors. He has a doctors appt. Soon and I wanted to talk to the doctor about switching meds. I've been doing research and found a drug called abilify.

He just started on methylphenidate a month ago. It has helped with his focus. I think the hardest thing for me is to watch him struggle so much with relationships.I am wondering if this is ever going to get any better for him. It’s so hard to watch him struggle.

She took 36 mg methylphenidate er, and about a week in got really bad gastritis. I stopped her on that, and am waiting until it’s better before starting her on anything else. From what I’ve researched, it seems like every doctor’s first choice is a stimulant.

A very small number of teens and young adults who first begin the stimulant methylphenidate can experience a psychotic event, an uncommon side effect where they might see or hear something that is not there. Stopping the medication will make the side effect go away.

He’s been on generic Concerta Methylphenidate 30mg. is his current dosage. My son is very aware that he is different, wants to fit in so bad. He says they treat him like a baby.

Since starting stimulant medication (methylphenidate) in February, I notice my son has had aversions to foods he previously liked. Initially I thought it was just the appetite suppression that he didn’t want to eat.

He’s now on methylphenidate (Ritalin) for about 4 months. It has worked fairly well but now it’s efficacy on th ER has worn off so we are down to 2 short term ones.

(He’s been on methylphenidate M-F since he was 8, so I don’t think it’s the meds)

He was on methylphenidate and Vyvanse and both did not work for him. He has a 504 on file and I let the teachers know and for the most part they honor it. His grades in a few of his classes, math and science have not been good. I cringe when I open Power school.

My son is 5 and a half years old. Was dx with ADHD predominately hyperactive when he was 4. He has tried Focalin XR and ER, Evekeo and is currently on Methylphinedate 5 mg (1 and a half tablets 3 times a day). His metabolism is super high so we have not has luck with extended releases. He does much better

He had been on methylphenidate which made him very agitated and restless and he shouted and screamed a lot. I believe as did some of the nurses that the medication was bringing about some of these behaviours.
