My son is 5 and a half years old. Was dx with ADHD predominately hyperactive when he was 4. He has tried Focalin XR and ER, Evekeo and is currently on Methylphinedate 5 mg (1 and a half tablets 3 times a day). His metabolism is super high so we have not has luck with extended releases. He does much better having a second dose at school and a 3rd dose on evenings that he has sports. He has done really well on the Methylphinedate until recently when we weren't able to find his manufacturer because there is a backorder. We tried 2 different generics that did not work at all. It was like ADHD with a vengeance. When we were finally able to track down his usual pills he was able to get back on track, but still having serious issues with anger and aggression. He is having to see the counselor at school several times a week for anger management sessions, sometimes 2-3 times per day. His pedi suggested trying Dayanavel, start at 2ml and adjust from there. I was feeling desperate and helpless last week, but he has had a really good week this week and I am not sure if I should be opening a can of worms by switching up on him. Has anyone else tried Dayanavel? How long did the dose last for your child?

It sounds like you need to see a pediatric psychiatrist. They specialize in knowing what type and dose is correct. Have you increased it? I was told there is a range and our son is on the highest for his weight and it exactly what he needs.
You should not be seeing these symptoms if the medication is well balanced. But we take 2 different medications, ritalin for impulse control (3x daily) and Initiv for focus at bed time becuase it is a 24 hour dose.
Hope this helps.
