Progressively worse stimulant side effects
Yesterday she tried a Saffron tablet as there had been some discussion online about it being a natural alternative to
Methylphenidate
but 2 hours later the meltdown returned. We have absolutely NO idea what the hell is happening with this or where to begin to get her some support.

Teaching money habits
My 12 year old was diagnosed with ADHD hyperactivity last year and he’s on
methylphenidate
during the school day. He is really organized and gets straight A’s in school but struggles with math. His main struggles are impulsivity and constantly being on the go.

depression - methylphenidate
I became very depressed a few weeks ago and came the the conclusion that it was the matoride XL (
methylphenidate
) that was causing it.

Each med has its own way of delivery: OROS MPH This means: Osmotic-release oral system of
Methylphenidate
. Different brands have patents that deliver the MPH in different ways. This can have a dramatic effect on how your body reacts to the osmosis and the concentration of each released dose.

Vyvanse With Gabapentin? Prescribed both for different conditions, but do they counteract each other or benefit one another? Any Thoughts?
Dear Readers & Fellow Sufferers, I am still pretty new here, and I recently switched from
methylphenidate
to Vyvanse to help my battle with ADHD.

ADHD medication losing effectiveness?
My 6-year old son started on
methylphenidate
about 5 months ago. The psychiatrist started him on a low dose (10 mgs) and we initially saw some improvement. He was much calmer, able to focus during conversations, had better impulse-control, listened and followed instructions better...

Medication dosage too high?
I have a question for those of you, who take
methylphenidate
. How do you know, if the dosage of
methylphenidate
is too high?

GABA and PD
Previous studies in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) have reported that treatment with dopamine agonists like
methylphenidate
can reduce striatal Glx levels (47), although
methylphenidate
did not appear to influence frontal Glx levels, (47) and another study of medication-naïve

10 year old ODD symptoms
He started on a low-dose of sertraline, Then we added
methylphenidate
10 mg ER and gradually increased it to 20. We eventually weaned him off sertraline and started him in 2 mg of guanfacine.

Finally starting medication--what now?
My last year of highschool I was on Concerta xr (
methylphenidate
). It helped, but took a high dose to do so, which sometimes ended up too much. I asked for the short release for this so it could be more controllable and wouldn't ruin a day if it acted weird.

2 Long acting stimulants per day?
We do a 10mg booster of short acting
methylphenidate
in the afternoon at 2pm(because thats the med he was on previous before the focalin) but again thats out of his system by 4pm and even so does not give the same benefits we see with the focalin so evenings can be challenging.

Boys fighting and escalating
I tried him on 5mg of
Methylphenidate
but he gets nauseous and at this point, refuses to take it. He’s really good at school and during sports and for other people but he’s really hard for me to manage. Things were really hard for him during lockdown and his tantrums were really bad.

Is it normal for Concerta to feel like it's doing nothing?
I am usually on a generic brand of
methylphenidate
, called Teva. That's not available right now, because of supply chain issues, so I am on Concerta instead. It's been a few days, and I can safely say it's not doing what it should. The Teva was sustained release, and lasted around 24 hours.

On Methylphenidate for Life?
am currently on 72 mg of
Methylphenidate
. I take a rapid release in the morning, and then 54 mg ER later in the day. I have been on these meds for 8 years, and to be honest I really like who I am in where I am in life both personally and professionally.

COVID brain impact similar to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
I couldn't get prescribed
Methylphenidate
. Modafinil works to a good extent but my insurance wouldn't pay for it so I have to buy online. I still don't know if Neurological Fatigue and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome are one and the same.

Richie has been on Fluoxetine and
Methylphenidate
for almost a year now. For the most part the depression is under control and our biggest struggle is getting to school on time and getting work done.
