Medical marijuana side effects
My regular family doctor suggested I try medical marijuana. My neurologist would not advise it. I do have the card and went to get some today from the dispensary. She gave me the smallest amount to try but I have not done so as I am concerned about side effects. I am looking for it to start my tremors

Medical Marijuana
My Psychiatrist has recommended trying Medical marijuana for my severe anxiety and panic attacks. I am a little scared to try this. Has anyone had experience with this and can you still use your antidepressant with it?

Ratio of periprostatic to subcutaneous fat thickness on MRI is an independent survival predictor in hormone-naïve men with advanced PCa
New study from Japan [1]. Visceral fat is associated with a poorer prognosis. Visceral fat is hormonally active (& not in a good way.) Many researchers who have reported on obesity & PCa mortality, acknowledge that BMI (body mass index) is a surrogate for visceral fat. However, one can be thin outside

Disappointing
He did recommend
medical
cannabis
but i live in a state with legal recreational cannabis and i smoke a truckload already. Lol. It doesn't help my legs much at this point. I'm so thoroughly disappointed. I'm going to have to find a way to see Dr Winkleman at MGH.

A difficult customer
Hello i've just joined this group so will summarise my experiences. I have a very understanding oncologist who has been very supportive but also refers to me, not always in jest, as her "difficult one". The reason is that I have rejected most of what is referred to as Standard Care here in the UK. I

A BIT OF A WARNING ON USING MEDICAL MARIJUANA (MM) AS A SLEEP AID AND THE USE OF MELATONIN 123 AS ANOTHER OPTION FOR SLEEP PLUS TWO OTHERS
In a previous reply to a thread about using MM as a sleep aid, I mentioned that although I did not think it was addictive, I felt that it could easily become a regular part of your going to sleep routine and in that sense, possibly habit forming, so I suggested mixing it up with the "melatonin 123" method

Radium-223 treatment in CRPC & presence of Primary Tumor.
New Italian study. Only 44 men, but .... "The presence of the primary prostate tumor seems to play a detrimental role in mCRPC patients undergoing 223Ra treatment in absence of other concomitant anticancer therapy. On the other hand a previous RP might play a protective role." "Discussion" "Radium 223

How long can you maintain your GFR levels?
I got iga nephropathy as an infant and was relatively stable until my twenties (I am now 34) but over the last 10-14 years my GFR has been dropping. Was at a 59 in 2008 and now at a 36 in July of 2019. I will admit, I smoked cigarettes, vaped nicotine and drank too much during those years and really

Sinemet, how much is too much?
I'm wondering is there is a scientific guidance or a rule of thumb about how much Sinemet is too much for PWP. I have been very careful about the intake of C/L because of the side effects will come with the long time use of this drug but my panic button was activated when I read a post from a member

Novel methods for mapping the cavernous nerves during radical prostatectomy.
The article below was published four years ago. Has there been progress in technologies to definitively assess whether nerves have been "spared" and "healing" is taking place following a prostatectomy? https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26256860

Men with Prostate Cancer can be Spared Radiotherapy after Surgery
This large RCT found that early salvage radiotherapy (SRT) is not inferior to 'standard' treatment with adjuvant RT (ART) with respect to biochemical failure in patients with pT3 disease and/or positive surgical margins (SMs) after radical prostatectomy (RP). https://www.esmo.org/Press-Office/Press-Releases

Watchful Waiting Worked
Nearly 3 yrs ago I chose radiation over radical prostatectomy to halt aggressively growing cancer. My PSA following radiation is now down to .020. I am grateful to my urologist and to those who have advised me and executed an apparently successful procedure. I wish those who are not so fortunate courage

18F-fluciclovine PET-CT and 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET-CT in patients with early biochemical recurrence after prostatectomy: A prospective, single-...
The use of PSMA PET-CT scans resulted in higher detection rates, and therefore, this diagnostic modality was recommended when PET-CT imaging is considered for subsequent treatment management decisions in patients with prostate cancer and biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy and low PSA

I have been dealing with RLS for 15 years and have been taking Ropinirole. I had to increase the dose because it wasn’t working. I saw my doctor and he recommended taking extended release. Has anyone tried medical marijuana?
If so have you found it helpful? Which symptoms has it helped? Has it replaced any of your medications? What CBD/THC mix do you use? I'm curious because it seems to have less side-effects than some medication.
