My step-daughter had a double
Mastectomy
for stage 2 E +BC two days ago. Her boyfriend was there with her (far, far away from us) and kept us informed every step of the way. She called herself a little while ago, is home, tired but doing well.

My current struggle, anxiety
I’m also a 13 year breast cancer survivor and after
mastectomy
in 2010 I made the mistake of getting reconstruction with a breast implant.

I had a bilateral
mastectomy
with an axillary lymph node dissection. I did chemo after surgery and have been on exemestane since. I did not have radiation. A recent pet scan showed an enlarged axillary lymph node that a biopsy showed as cancer. (apparently the surgeon missed one!)

New primary plus first progression
I had a
mastectomy
and axillary clearance left side and then palbociclib, letrezole, monthly goserelin and denusamab. I have just found out I have my first progression spine and possible lesion on my liver but more concerning a new primary lobular carcinoma in my right breast and armpit lymph.

Struggling to have a physical body
I've been diagnosed as BRCA1 positiveIn Nov. 2022 I had a bilateral
mastectomy
On Aug 17 I had my ovaries and fallopian tubes removed. These were both surgeries to prevent me from hopefully developing cancer in the future.

Fast forward 31 years I have just had a
mastectomy
after I had an oestrogen positive tumour. No chemo needed-phew! The op was 3 weeks ago & I still have a large haematoma that has already been drained but needs draining again today…

niece has DCIS, 3 lumpectomies and now needs mastectomy
We are dumbfounded that despite their assurances each time that it could be excised cleanly she now needs radical
mastectomy
. We are also wanting help with deciding if she should ask for double
mastectomy
. Any help would be most welcome 🙏

Sore leg muscles
Hi....I had a double
mastectomy
in Jan 2023 and finished my 4th and final chemo treatment one month ago. Since my 3rd treatment I have experienced extremely sore leg muscles 24/7 with no improvement. Has anyone else had this side effect?

Thank you for all the support and bye for now
I even asked to be added to the list for breast scanning as I needed to know I wouldn’t be facing double
mastectomy
too.

mastectomy
so glad I opted for
Mastectomy
-would never have coped with further operations and up to 18 months of treatment if I had opted for reconstruction..Only appts now are with a district nurse to check dressings and scar and then to see the surgeon in 2 weeks time and a phsyio.

Rads to spine scheduled
Our youngest daughter (really husband's daughter, grown up when we married and very close to both of us) had a double
mastectomy
for early BC today. She's moved to a different (much warmer!) part of the country.

BC metastasizes to dermis
Six years later I have had a local recurrence which presented in the dermis right next to the
mastectomy
scar. The
mastectomy
was nipple sparing DEIP Flap reconstruction. (I thought it was a pimple HAH!)

Not where I expected to be
That year my birthday present was having a bilateral
mastectomy
with 9 lymph nodes removed on the left, with microscopic findings in 1 node; and remove of 5 on the right which were all negative. Followed by chemotherapy and radiation.

My Journey - Breast Cancer
I made the decision to have a double
mastectomy
- ( May 19th 2023) as I have a stong history of both breast cancer and prostate ( hormone related ) cancers in my family. I also have had 4 malignant melanomas - all in situ. I will follow up with DIEP reconstruction ( Dec 13th ).

Mastectomy after 7 years of MBC
Today I met with a surgeon and will have a double
mastectomy
in early January. My oncologist said she never had a patient that has been metastatic free for this long and just now the tumor is no longer stable. Has anyone else had a
mastectomy
after being diagnosed MBC? Thank you
