Mastectomy after 7 years of MBC
Today I met with a surgeon and will have a double
mastectomy
in early January. My oncologist said she never had a patient that has been metastatic free for this long and just now the tumor is no longer stable. Has anyone else had a
mastectomy
after being diagnosed MBC? Thank you

Must manage your own healthcare
Had double
mastectomy
and found macrometatastisis in my sentinel lymph node. Had 4 rounds of AC and 12 rounds of Taxol. Had 25 rounds of radiation. Was told in May 2023 that it was time to start on Letrozole and at that same appointment I asked for a PET scan to confirm I was cancer free.

never adjusted
I had a
mastectomy
three years ago and I've never gotten over this deep seated shock as to how it looks. Don't bother writing if all you can think to say is I'm lucky the cancer is gone.

I have been in treatment for breast cancer since 2006 and have done the drill - lumpectomy, lymph nodes removal, chemo, radiation, herceptin, Arimidex for six years… then in 2019 a
mastectomy
, more hormone blockers, and three years of various combinations with Ibrance, which has sadly stopped working

why do some MBC get mastectomies?
Hi All, Why do some MBC’ers get a
mastectomy
? Even some that are not Oglio’s? Do you think there is a benefit? I know they say there isn’t but I’m seeing those who had it done seem to have longevity. If you had a
mastectomy
how long have you had MBC?

travel insurance (again)
This is sort of academic as I can’t get insurance anyway at present due to pending operations that might never actually happen (
mastectomy
/mitral valve repair). But I’m always hopeful.

Breast cancer - mastectomy or not
I'm weighing up
mastectomy
versus yearly mammograms and self-examination. I'd be really grateful to hear from anyone who's been in a similar position x

PMR AND ANASTROZOLE
I had an operation for breast cancer (
Mastectomy
with reconstruction) in mid December. Thankfully I don’t need any more treatment other than anti oestrogen tablets.

Ovarian cancer recurrence
Firstly, hi to anyone who may stumble across my post. Long story short, I was diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer back in 2020. I had an ultra radical debulking surgery in August that year, followed by 6 rounds of carbo/taxol and maintenance via olaparib. I had a CT scan back in August which highlighted

Has anyone been taking Verzenio for more than 2 years?
I had a
mastectomy
, chemo and radiatin and my scans showed no further evidence of cancer. I have been on anastrazole and in May 2021 I was started on Verzenio. They said it is only approved to be used for 2 years. My question is why stop taking it after 2 years?

urethral constriction
Had chemo and then cystectomy 10 years ago. Last few years, kidney stones then UTIs, until lithotripsy for the stones. But have urethral constriction, so every 4 month I have stents put through my stoma. Has anyone heard of, or had the procedure done for the constriction using Optilume? Supposedly

Hi ….from a newly dx’d comrade from the UK
Drs Initial plan was for removal, tamoxifen & chemo….but that may have changed since MRI Undecided if I should just go for
mastectomy
though and I’ve read that tamoxifen is better for pre-menopausal women. Would welcome any advice or tips on navigating this journey.

PSA level vs vasectomy question
When I had my tubes cut, they were not sewn up or cauterized which I believe is standard practice (in states), I elected to just have a .375" chunk cut out of each of them then and everything stuffed back inside and sewn back scrotum. I did this so they would never be able to be reconnected or reversed

Breast cancer interrupted things and I paused my reduction programme whilst I had a
mastectomy
. After surgery I had some respite from my restless legs as my ferretin levels increased which is normal after surgery. They are dropping back now. I have more blood tests due in a few weeks.

BC Update with GP.
First I rang Macmillan and they thought it very odd my cancer had gone from high to low. So rang my consultants secretary and she was not there, the people in charge said they were not qualified to help. I saw my GP today and like myself had a letter with no details at the top, this matters because
