I was diagnosed with ILC stage 3, HER2 negative, ER positive, PR positive in November 2020. I had a mastectomy, chemo and radiatin and my scans showed no further evidence of cancer. I have been on anastrazole and in May 2021 I was started on Verzenio. They said it is only approved to be used for 2 years. My question is why stop taking it after 2 years? Do my chances of mets increased after I stop taking it? At first I had some bad GI side effects, but once they lowered the dose, I tolerated it ok. I'm wondering if anyone has been on it for more than 2 years.

Correction to my original post. I started Verzenio on May 2022 not 2021.
I doubt your doctor would take you off a treatment that is continuing to be effective.
Alwayslearningmore, this message board is specifically for metastatic stage IV breast cancer so those of us who are on Verzenio will remain on it as long as it works . Stage 3 may have an entirely different standard of care protocol / expectation . I would look for a different message board or perhaps a Verzenio specific discussion board to see if others stage 3 patients have remained on the medication . I understand your reluctance to go off of it as you are tolerating it well !
