Normal Meds: is this it?!
I say normal because up until recently I’ve used a cocktail of normal (Rasagaline, Requip and Madopar) alongside Mucuna. The Mucuna was my go to stuff if I needed an immediate lift as it worked so quickly. But I promised my neuro that I’d leave it out: it’s difficult to measure and rationalise when he

Staying up later than usual
My hubby has a routine of about 6 madopars a day at 3 hourly intervals with a bit of Mucuna in the inbetween times. He's tired enough to go to bed about 8.45/9pm, and takes a slow release Madopar... His relationship with Madopar is getting a bit past it's best, i.e. he stiffens up alot when he wears

I've been on Madopar 6x25mg per day and Ipinnia XL 12mg per day for a nearly a year now and though I can physically do most things I want, like decorating a house, moving furniture etc I feel so weird and out of it most of the time. Also something horrid and weird is happening to my face - it seems my

Dividing the dose
There was a talk about dopamine levels and tolerance. How to avoid this by intermittent dosing. How the brain responds more strongly to surprise levels of dopamine. I've been trying this by dividing the dose of 3 madopar every 4 hours into 2s and 1s. And sometimes taking 2nd dose early before 1st

Levodopa storage
A rather dry topic but where do people store their medication in hot weather? Apparently Madopar should not be stored above 26 deg c, (79f), Sinemet- some sources say keep below 25c. As the needle now edges 30 c in the UK, and anytime on holiday in the Mediterranean or Caribbean, not easy without AC.

B1 and the possibility of reducing medication…?
I had a strong positive initial response to B1 which pretty quickly turned “jittery”. After stopping and starting again a couple of times, I now take 125 mg -ish ( chop my 500 mg Solgar tabs into 4). So 125 mg once a day. I have been feeling much better but now I’m feeling over-medicated on my Madopar

Night time medication
What doesn't work so well is the night, where he takes one
Madopar
CR
at 10pm and then one
Madopar
IR at 3.30/4am, with some mucuna here and there. Any medication recommends for a good night without too much stiffness.

What happens if you alternate Kinson (ie sinemet) with madopar?
We have some Kinson tablets which can be cut up . The madopar 62.5 are too strong. What would happen if hubby took madopar capsule less frequently with a tiny piece of Kinson in between? We also have NOW MP and mucuna bean powder but I don’t know how much of those is equivalent to half a madopar 62.5

Who wakes up “on”?
Can you please indicate if when you wake up you need a dose of levodopa to be able to move, and who feels best first thing before a dose? I just found this picture. Ignore the schitzophrenia references, I just found it interesting how dopamine levels fluctuate during the day naturally in a normal person

Temgesic hot flushes and difficult choices
Sorry I haven't been on the forum lately but my RLS has continued to be bad every day and I haven't had anything positive to say. I stopped taking pramipexole about 15 months ago and started taking Temgesic 18 months ago and started taking gabapentin 11 months ago. Currently I'm taking 1x200 Temgesic

What causes muscle spasms and twitching after meals?
Hi, my hubby has been going through a rough patch since before Christmas after a long period of doing very well. He was taking 3 madopar 62.5 per day. He had been sleeping well with 5mg melatonin but then stopped being able to sleep and became increasingly anxious dreading night, and had to pee 3-4

I walked 5 miles + regularly and was training as a competitive powerlifter. 24th May I went into hospital and didn't come
