in the mucuna bottle look for how much l-dopa it contains, that’s how you know. If there is a percentage then you do the calculations. Hope that helps
My question is more specific because we do not know the quantity in mg of Mucuna Which passes the blood-brain barrier...
In other words, is 100 mg of Mucuna worth a modopar 62.5 or a modopar 125?
who knows how much l-dopa from mucuna goes through the BBB. I too take mucuna and this is how it goes for me. The mucuna I take comes in 650 mg caps and it’s 40% l-dopa which it’s 260 mg of l- dopa, I took one of this caps with EGCG green tea extract and quercetin for a few days and found it to be too big of a dose so I started experimenting with lower doses, eventually I found the green tea and quercetin weren’t very reliable so I asked the neuro for carbidopa by it self. The carbidopa comes in 25 mg and I cut it in 8 pieces, I bought a scale and I weight my dose to be around 2 mg, I know it’s very little but it works, same with the mucuna, my current mucuna dose is about 81 mg of natura l-dopa that lasts around 6.5 hours. I now make my own capsules and use very small teaspoons to measure, they go from 1/4 tsp to 1/64 tsp i currently take a bit more than 1/16 tsp. Here is the Amazon link amazon.com/Measuring-Stainl... So this whole story is to say that in my opinion we need to experiment to find the correct mucuna dose which you may already be doing. Here is the mucuna I take barlowesherbalelixirs.com/m...
