Dr. Buchfuhrer Visit
He prefers Horizant or
Lyrica
due to the extended release properties. He switched me over to 600 mg Horizant and upped the dose to 1200 mg per evening when the 600 mg proved not to get the job done. I am seeing a hematologist to get an iron infusion, as my ferritin levels were at a 90.1 ng/ml.

Gabapentin dose.
Lyrica
(pregabalin) works on the same receptors as gabapentin but does not have any absorption limitations. You can increase the dose (maximum 300-450 mg) to get maximal therapeutic effect when not limited by side effects (similar to gabapentin). mjb

Living with Chronic Neuropathic Pain
I remained on the
Lyrica
. I read the clinical trials on
Lyrica
when it was first prescribed. The trials indicated that the daily dose for chronic neuropathic pain was 450mg. I experimented and listened to my body until I found a dose that worked for me.

I was taking
lyrica
but found if I took ordinary painkillers on top I couldn’t talk and so stopped taking meds all together. I spend a lot of time in Spain and find this does help but have been back in UK and unable to get steroid injections in shoulders.

It’s back!
I usually manage to stay up till 10.30pm then take 300mg of
lyrica
, 100 mg of Tramulief and 10mg of nortriptylene. Lastly I apply a 2mg Neupro patch. This lot knocks me out and about 6.00am I have 300mg of
lyrica
and so another day starts. This morning however it was different.

Saved by Methadone
I have tried tramadol, codeine, oxycodone,
lyrica
, Gabapentin, clonazepam, MSContin and various combinations. I have emailed Dr Buchfuhrer, with no suggestions from him. Last week I saw a sleep specialist for the third time. His area of expertise is sleep apnoea.

Upcoming Doctor Visit
The MD put me on 100 mg. of
Lyrica
about 6 weeks ago. I didn’t see any change in pain so I stopped and he now increased it to 200 mgs. which I never started. Anyone have any relief with
Lyrica
? I’ve tried high doses of Gabapentin but after awhile that stopped working so I’m off of that too.

Medication advice.
Could anyone please tell me what a therapeutic dose of
Lyrica
would be? I have to ask here as folks are far more knowledgeable about RLS than my GP who, when I talk to him about RLS his eyes glaze over. I am reducing Sifrol and increasing
Lyrica
as required.

Tolerance withdrawal from Klonopin
(long story, won't bore you) Docs had already tried to give me Zoloft, Prozac, Amitriptyline, Cymbalta,
Lyrica
, and probably forgot a few. Could not take any of those. For instance, Zoloft hurt my stomach so bad, I couldn't take it. Prozac made my anxiety a million times worse.

How to space morning meds
I take
Lyrica
(pregabalin) 150 mg BD for anxiety. I usually take the morning dose with my breakfast (so at least 30 mins after my Levo but usually closer to 1 hour after). Is this ok? Do I need to take my morning dose later? Thanks

Lyrica dose
I would like to discontinue the Sifrol but would like some advice on what strength
Lyrica
is appropriate for treatment of RLS. Also, has anyone who takes
Lyrica
noticed any weight gain?

Discontinuing Sifrol
What I am enquiring about is once I have stopped the dose will the RLS symptoms come back like they were before I started Sifrol or will the
Lyrica
control those awful RLS symptoms? Thank you for your help.

Flare or nerve pain, or is it the same thing?
I've had what I thought, and GP and Rheumy thought, was neuralgic pain/headache from the occipital nerve, and I was prescribed
Lyrica
which doesn't seem to make any difference. The Rheumy said the
Lyrica
should relieve it in a short time, which it hasn't.

Are home tests reliable?
I take
lyrica
for anxiety and nothing else. And I was getting very frustrated as I was asking for mental health support from the NHS and getting nowhere (that is a whole other topic though...)

YES to CAFFEINE for RLS
Mirapex,
lyrica
, Ropinirole, Gabapentin... so many drugs. I've tried them all over the years. Some worked. Some didn't, like Gabapentin, not real great for RLS. But after many many years of severe RLS, what did I find that works? CAFFEINE!
