Thyroxine uptake and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome
Hi all, any experience or advice on this would be much appreciated. I have been on thyroxine for 25 years since having Hashimotos at the age of 29. I've also been diagnosed a while ago with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia (both connective tissue disorders.) My new GP is messing about with

7 days off Pramipexole
Two months ago I finally found a doctor (addiction specialist) who read all the literature I gave him (from this site) and he was very understanding and prescribed me the suboxone film. I’m taking 1/7 of the film each day and it has enabled me to get to this point of no Pramipexole! I kinda thought

For those considering methadone
hi again everyone, I just want to give a quick update for anyone who may be considering methadone. After trying many other drugs, and after augmentation and withdrawal from dopamine agonists, I started mid Feb on 2.5 mg methadone and have titrated slowly over 4 months to allow my body to get used to

Exercise that often helps
Although I have experienced intensification of RLS symptoms after heavy, prolonged daytime exercise, paradoxically I have sometimes found significant relief with short bursts of fairly intense calisthenics when symptoms hit at night. As mentioned elsewhere, I have had RLS since my teens. By about age

A useful option-gastro resistant empty capsules
a post yesterday reminded me to tell you all that I’ve been taking my preds in gastro resistant empty capsules for a couple of months now. This means I can take them without food around midnight. But I have also taken them at 11pm ish and not noticed any difference. I asked a gp if I should still take

At a loss
I was prescribed Ropinirole .25 mg I took that for 4 days and could not handle the side effects. Day 4 was terrible. After reading the posts, it seems as if I am screwed if I don't take any medication for it so I guess I will just have to live with this condition drug free. I was never a pill popper

levodopa and augmentation
I have had RLS for over 10 years and controlling symptoms with oxycodone. I have also been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and prescribed Levodopa. Can someone please confirm whether or not this is a dopamine agonist like Pramipexole. If so does it also lead to augmentation?

RLS treatment Australia
Here is the latest I can find on treatment recommendations in Australia. It is consistent with the latest US advice and includes the option of opiods as last line treatment in refractory (including augmented) RLS. https://www1.racgp.org.au/ajgp/2023/september/restless-legs-syndrome To my mind it does

Methadone induced brain fog
Hello friends! I have been successfully using 10 mg of methadone for 18 months with no side effects. The past few months I have been experiencing brain fog. It is increasing in severity and frequency. My search to see if methadone or bupremorphine can cause this is enlightening. It definitely can

methadone no longer helping
I am 87 and live in Australia I have had RLS for at least 4 decades. Only slept when on morale’s. Finally got methadone and had a heavenly 5 hours sleep for 4 years now. I had multiple pulmonary embolisms last year. No source found I needed increase of Methadone to 10 mg twice daily due to anticoagulants

Switching to pregabalin or gabapentin from methadone
I have very much appreciated the information here over several years but never posted before. I have been able to control my RLS (which I’ve had since teen years along with several family members - I’m now 80) with a divided 10 mg daily dose of methadone, prescribed by my sympathetic GP here in Canada

Physically cutting buprenorphine pills
After going through augmentation with pramipexole and no luck with gabapentin or lyrica, I was prescribed buprenorphine about 5 weeks ago and it has been a miracle. No RLS at all. I have found that a dose of .25 mg about 45 minutes before bed works perfectly. The problem I have is that the smallest

Good Morning, My restless legs started in 2003 when I was pregnant with my son, after I had him they went away. Then around 2019 they came back with a vengeance. After an appointment with the Doctor I was put on Ropinirole, over the years my dose has gradually increased. I have been on 1.5mg for
