I met with Glen a couple of weeks ago , he is now 76 and no longer taking in new RLS patients

It has become increasingly difficult for him to prescribe Buprenorphine the biggest problem is he cannot find doctors who will continue to prescribe for Buprenorphine when he is no longer working.

Glen said it’s all political and even during and post surgery a lot of surgeons will not prescribe opioids for pain relief .

I was listening to a doctor the other day that said Suboxone with Naloxone in the low dose we require will not cause any complications with other opioids and surgery.

Perhaps those who have been declined Buprenorphine could try again and ask for Suboxone version of buprenorphine which contains naloxone - just a thought

Hi Shumbah, this is Shaughnna..

Regarding your question about Suboxone. I was on Buprenorphine and Naloxone ( I think it’s the same as Suboxone). I was put on a low dose for severe chronic pain. It did help for a few days, but then the pain went back to a nine…every day, all day.

However I also suffer from RLS. For that it worked great. only needed 1 or 2 mg. I never get RLS pain at all anymore. I was on it for a few months and then for some reason thenRLS I had suffered from for years was gone. I often wonder if it’s possible that the Suboxone broke the cycle. I asked the MD’s about if I could take it along with another opioid and I asked 3 mds and got 3 different answers. I hope this helps.
