Goody...!
Susie has given me another kitten! We took Eilis in this afternoon 'cos she had one of her nails growing into the pad of her paw...Susie cut it off and gave her a shot of anti-biotics...it's horribly swollen and oozing pus. Was fine first thing this morning...amazing how quickly it turned nasty. Anyway

Lung Transplant Question
Hello all, I am new to this online forum thing and I am just looking for help and support. I have had Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) since being diagnosed with it at the age of 13. I am now 48 years old. I have been in and out of the hospital for multiple lung problems and lung infections/diseases.

Guess who just ran for 20 minutes?
Meeeeeeeeeee! I can't believe it, I am sooooooo happy I could cry. Thank you all you wonderful people. I don't know where it came from or how, the longest I had managed before was just under 14 mins! I have been faltering for weeks and weeks over this W5R3 and along that route you have picked me up,

Did This really happen?
Had hospital appt with oncologist-no contact since last November-long story. Had X-ray first then saw 'God' he showed me the x Ray & I had to ask him to explain as I don't read x-Rays. He then indicated the left lung & said that it had collapsed. 'No' says I. Although not experienced with lung collapse

Back from vacation
Well, my family and I just returned from a week of camping. It was nice. Had follow up with Dr. He said if I have COPD, it's probably mild, but he's thinking maybe some type of asthmatic component. Breathing still sucks... can't breath deep, only shallow. Changed my med again, now on Dulera twice

Suspected Bronchiolitis Obliterans - I'm terrified
Hi all, I'm new to this site. I'll just give some background info. First let me state i'm a non smoker and have never smoked but lived at home for 26 years with my mum who chain smokes. About 10 years ago I noticed I was getting a lot of chest infections and quite short of breath when I tried to go

Be Clear on Cancer shelving defies progress
The government has decided to end its Be Clear on Cancer lung cancer awareness campaign. This campaign has helped raise awareness about common symptoms of lung cancer which may otherwise have gone ignored, for example a persistent cough. Prof. Stephen Spiro has written a post for the BLF blog calling

Scared of lobectomy next week
Hi. I have been scheduled for a lobectomy (upper right lobe) and scared. A pulmonologist told me I had nothing to fear and suggested repeat scan in 6 - 8 months but to not worry- it was nothing. My rheumatologist however, felt from viewing the radiologist report, that it seemed inappropriate to leave

Frustations
I'm feeling so overwhelmed & frustrated tonight. The odd thing is that I probably have a lot to be thankful for. 8 months ago I had no idea that I was so sick. As a matter of fact, I had no idea that I had been so sick for so long. I had an enormous sense of well being, and I identified

Medicinal Cannabis
Anybody tried medicinal cannabis ? saw a video on U Tube of a man in America who was on the list for a heart and lung transplant, he tried cannabis and was no longer needing the transplant although he was still on oxygen he was very much improved. Very interesting, he took it as a tincture, would love

Shocked & scared & confused now
I have
lung
cancer for which I've had a
Lobectomy
on my righthand side. The tumour was attached to two sides of my pleura & was 7cm. My surgeon wasn't going to undertake surgery if it tumour was attached to the pleura but did so as he said I wouldn't have long if he didn't.
