Hi

Is there any body out there with experience of supporting a partner through a lung transplant. Husband transplanted on June 23rd. Still in itu with a selection of problems.

Would love to hear other stories about how they coped/recovered/or didn/t. All very stressful at present.

Thanks

I am new to this site too. Well I can say for my self, who was single at the time, but with a great supporting best friend, now wife. Most of the "hard work" from my side was preparing for and waiting for transplant. Thats not to say I didn't have a few bumps in the road after surgery. 2 times incubated and some heavy doses of medications. However, I have recovered nicely, I'm almost 4 years post transplant and have traveled to a few countries outside the US. Even developing countries where all the health care I had was in my head and in my back pack. Life has been great but there is always a touch of grey to every thing and being the medications.

I'm not sure if this will help but if you have any specific questions about recover and life post transplant feel free to message me.
