Intersitial Lung Disease and Lung Cancer
I am just trying to find out more about intersitial
lung
disease
and
lung
cancer to see if there are further treatments available. He is 87 now but still manages to walk 3/4 of a mile around the park every day as he was very fit before his diagnosis.

Late diagnosis of asbestosis
My Dad is 96 and has had progressive
lung
disease
for many years. He's a non-smoker and I always wondered about the cause. On 16 October this year he was referred to a respiratory consultant for the first time.

Mycophenolate instead of Perfinedine or Nintenanib?
On 2nd January 2024 I was commenced on Mycophenolate 1mg increasing to 2mg in an effort to suppress my immune system as I have been diagnosed as having autoimmune interstial
lung
disease
caused by Sjogrens. I am also on home oxygen since this week due to my condition getting worse.

Coughing
Hello everyone, at 66yrs I have been diagnosed with a
lung
disease
. Had asthma badly as a child, less badly as an adult. Had broncestasis also. These were well controlled with medication. Now they say I have a
lung
disease
that can't be managed to get me back to breathing ok.

Methotrexate-induced lung disease
Towards the end of last year I was hospitalised for about a week with a dry cough/breathlessness that turned out to be Methotrexate-induced Interstitial
Lung
Disease
(previous posts - cough cough cough). The MTX was stopped immediately but I was warned the damage may be permanent.

oxygen on flights
Hi I have interstitial
lung
disease
and have some
lung
removed due to lung cancer. However I do not need oxygen or inhaler(lung stats of 52 pev) and am generally well. However my rheumatologist has suggested that the cabin pressure might cause me an issue when flying.

Hydroxycarbamide and lungs
I was surprised to read that this medicine can cause interstitial
lung
disease
such as pulmonary fibrosis. I don’t remember it being mentioned on the forum. Of course some diseases with stop you from communicating freely. Any comments? Jumbo4

oxygen on flight advice sought
I have interstitial
lung
disease
and had a small part of
lung
removed due to lung cancer. My lung stats are 52 pev. I would like to fly short haul later in the year. My rheumatologist has suggested I may struggle with cabin pressure.

Has anyone been prescribed Mycophenolate for stiff and painful hands rather than for ILD?
Has anyone else been prescribed it for reasons other than interstitial
lung
disease
?

lung
disease
I think one is just as bad as the other . Can I ask is there anyone who gets suddenly out of breath (worse than normal out of breath) but when I test my sats it says they’re the same as my normal sats. I can’t understand this and I don’t know the cause.

Multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS)
I have Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) I have
lung
disease
, as a result of Lupus. I also have diabetes, hyperparathyroidism and high blood pressure. Having MCS makes me hypersensitive to almost everything, chemicals, perfume, any strong smell, most household products.
