Any advise please
Any advise? Hi I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism 2 yrs ago and at the time I was tested for diabetes as my levels where high. As I had aching joints, tired and was putting on weight that I could not shift, which was unusual for me. I was put on 100mg levothyroxine tablets. I was still ill and tested

Just Not feeling right... Too many pieces to the puzzle..advice please on suggested blood tests with Blue Horizon I guess?
When you feel so unwell for so long, apart from becoming very stoical, when you've spent so much money, seen so many people over the years and you never feel anywhere near 'right'....you just put up with it and accept less and less... but It all piles up. I'm feeling very low today and surprisingly

Hi all :) I have femoral nerve damage as a complication from heart surgery in 2017, and have been living with chronic pain ever since. Any tips on how I can get more than 4 hours sleep a night or to make myself more comfortable? I take 8+ codeine a day, have nytol as well at night along with a cbd

I don’t seem to tolerate levothyroxine so been using iodine and was doing fine on it for a while then started feeling not good. I’d used NDT for some months two years ago but hair started dropping and also tried T3 only but same with hair fall. I’ve ordered LDN as I’ve read many people with hashis take

Too many unanswered questions - Myxedema
I thought this article would be illuminating. Yet the writers seem to be unaware of a couple of issues that we patients know about. For example, that taking iodine, if you are not tested to be low in it, can be harmful if you have hypothyroidism. For another thing, can a "poor converter" end up with

Recent blood results. May I have your thoughts please
I was diagnosed Hashimoto's and take Metavive as prescribed by Dr P; it's whole bovine thyroid gland. Lately, I'm unconvinced that I'm taking enough because of being unable to shift some stubborn weight and chronic insomnia but also, I wanted to know what my thyroid status is without help, so I stopped

Advicecregarding prescribing and Armour availability please?
Hi does can anyone advise me please? I struggled hugely on levo when diagnosed with hypothyroidism after radio iodine treatment. My endo worked between two health boards Cardiff and Vale and Aneurin Bevan (both in Wales). As I was struggling hugely on levo (despite constant increases in meds) I was referred

Is it ok to take Quinine
Hi. I have suffered with RLS off and on for years and years but stretching my calf muscles seemed to fix it. Recently RLS has got much worse. I had complete knee replacement 12 weeks ago and all is good. About 10 days ago RLS flared up one night and I couldn’t get rid of it. I’ve now been taking

Starting on thyroxine tomorrow
I had my tft bloods done on Friday and on Monday morning (very early) had a text to contact my GP with ref to them. I had a telephone appointment with her and she said that my tsh was 14.9, my previous level in November was 9.78, so she was prescribing me 25 mg thyroxine to start on and would like retests

Graves
I was diagnosed in November with Graves’ disease, on Carbimazole and doing ok. Have just been told that this is not a long term drug and will have to think about RAI as the way going forward. Anyone been through the same situation?

My persistent mystery cough stopped in 3 days by nebulizing food grade hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)
I've been suspecting that I've been exposed to Covid-19 for over a month now. I have no concrete way of verifying that because I can't be tested without qualifying symptoms. It all started with a diarrhea, headache (lower back of the head), feeling off, shoulder blade pain, but absolutely no fever.

Pramipexole/gabapentin/codeine???
Hi there- back again with a question....I have been taking pramipexole (250) and gabapentin (300) for a couple of years now. I was experiencing breakthroughs during the day. My prior neuro’s solution was increase prami. Frustrated with him, I went to see a new neurologist who wanted to wean me off

Woke this morning stiff and sore had to take codeine, Etoricoxib and paracetamol but determined to walk. 1/2 a mile less but it took an extra 45 minutes. Hate when this disease beats me I’m a bad looser. Thanks for listening to my grump. I’m off

Restless Legs in Pregnancy
Hi everyone, I am not even sure why I am writing this message - partly because I want to vent; partly because I would like some advice. I have had about 2-3 episodes of mild and short lasting (3ish days) of restless legs outside of pregnancy. I remember the restless legs to be quite bad in my first pregnancy

T3 can cause you to have a heart attack
That is what a consultant enocrinologist said to me on Friday. My telephone appointment with my usual endo was cancelled and he was the substitute. I've just watched the proceedings in the Scottish parliament and it was categorically stated in the evidence given that there are no clinical reasons why
