I have mild ischaemic heart disease and had occasional exercise-related attacks of angina which now seem well-controlled on Nicorandil 10mg, half-tablet am and pm.
A few months ago, I had surgery on a badly-broken femur, and a number of temporary medications including morphine and codeine. Since then, have wakened on two or three occasions at night with pain/discomfort on left side of chest, but mainly a painful tingling up and down left arm. Use GTN spray which helps, although sometimes takes a couple of goes. Is this anything to worry about? - or just par for the course?

Yes! It may be stable angina becoming unstable. My stable angina starting becoming u stable in the weeks before my bypass. You nerd to contact your GP in the morning. If it continues after two applications of GTN then call 999!
Ouch, I had expected people to say I was making a fuss about very little, nothing to worry about. You’re right, ‘though - better to make a fuss about nothing than not be around to make a fuss, I suppose. I have a ‘phone appointment with GP in a couple of days (re surgical recovery) so, unless I have another episode in the meantime, I’ll talk to her about the angina then. Many thanks for your advice, Michael.
