Dear all, This is my first time posting. I’m feeling very lost and overwhelmed as my dad has been diagnosed with a decompensated liver from alcohol misuse only a couple of weeks ago. The consultant told us he could one day become compensated but it’s too early to tell. He is currently abiding to strict

I Feel like I should be grateful to be on the waiting list for a new liver. But I really don’t feel grateful to towards the kind doctors.
I hate the way I feel about the thought of a new liver transplant. I have made it know to doctors about my feeling towards a new liver transplant. I feel great at the moment and I only on one type of tablet a day. For my liver condition. After I have a new liver transplant I will be on 27 different

I really don’t want a liver transplant but do not know how to get of the list for good.
I really don’t want a liver transplant. Last year in December I was out on the liver transplant list. I got called in within less then a week after being put on the transplant list. 14th December 2021 to be more precise. But it never happened. And just felt the whole excise was a trial run. I been attending

Soz for all the questions
Hubby back in hospital, major hemorrage this time. He has had 5 varices banded and still sedated. I'm just about coping, but question is with decompensated liver disease can you still get on the transplant list even if you have came out if hospital in the past and drank. I asked the consultant today

38 year old brother with varices
Hi there. My brother is 38 and has stage 4 liver chirossis. I have just found out he has esophgeal varices following his Ascites and he’s already vomited blood. From what I am reading his life expectancy when this happens is very short? The doctors have yet to tell me this though. My heart is broken

liver cirrhosis
I have been to many alcohol meeting lately and for one who does not drink much I have met people who have been drinking a bottle of scotch a day for years and they have been told to give up because that would be end of life for them I know all alcohol is bad for the liver but feel cheated as a fibroscan

Compeensated or decompensated
Hi there, I was diagnosed with decompensated cirrhosis 15 months ago after having blood tests and CT scan. My doctor has now told me after a recent telephone appointment that my liver has fully recovered after abstinence of alcohol and cigarettes and healthy diet ,although scarring will always remain

Sensitive update ❤️
Hi all, I don’t really post on here very often but I thought that I would now to give an update on our IVF journey. It has been and still is an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. So we are blessed to have a beautiful 21 month old girl called Aurora, she was a success from our second cycle of IVF.

A simple question on Cirrhosis..
When I last had tests 3 years ago my doctor felt my liver and said, ‘That feels lovely and soft’, and when I had a CT scan 7 years ago another doctor there also felt my liver and said it felt perfectly OK to him, too, Whilst I know that a doctor needs to have proper test results to hand before making

Placenta Previa and possible Accreta
Hi everyone, a bit of a follow up from my last post - I saw my consultant today and went through my 20 week scan and the scan I had recently at 26weeks. We found out that at the 20 week scan my placenta was covering my cervix and at my 26 week scan it has moved away from the cervix by 6mm. The consultant

Advice needed. Many thanks!
Hi everyone. Newbie here! Very soon I will have my first appointment with a consultant since my cirrhosis diagnosis in July 2022. I was wondering if any of you have some good general questions to ask a consultant that I can take with me? I've thought of a few but as I'm new to all of this and am not

Haemochromatosis and my liver
Male, now 50. My story starts five years ago when I was renovating my house and tripped down a broken staircase and knocked myself unconscious. I went to A&E and after getting a head scan my GP had me get some blood tests for any nasty tell tale signs to do with concussion and bleed on the brain. Thankfully

Sweep and induction
Hello lovelies, I hope you’re all okay. We are nearly there - I am 37 and a half weeks now and enjoying the last few weeks of pregnancy. I am booked in for a sweep this Friday 23rd and then if that doesn’t work, will be induced on Thursday 29th. I just wondered how successful your sweeps have been
