Lfts are still up
Well just a few months ago my Alp was up. I had broke my finger and we thought that caused it. That was the beginning of June. Now it's Oct. and my finger is healed and my last two blood tests all of it's high. My Alp is high and so is my Ast and Alt. My ALT used to be around 52, a lil high and the

Any advice on claiming PIP
hi, my partner has decompensated cirrhosis and on transplant list. He has a lot of aches and pains, cannot walk long distances and struggles to get up the stairs. We haven't claimed anything but there is absolutely no way he could work right now. Has anyone successfully claimed - what kind of things

Vitamin D
There are two forms of vitamin D – vitamin D2 & vitamin D3 and to remain in good health, it is important to ensure our bodies receive adequate levels of both...Vitamin D2 is ingested from a healthy, balanced diet and can be derived from everyday foods such as: Egg yolks and fatty fish like; trout, mackerel

Ascites / Paracentesis
I have posted before on how my husband has alcohol related cirrhosis. He stopped drinking the day he was admitted in the hospital, Aug 12, 2022. He remained there for 1 week. Since he has been released, his ascites has got worse. It has prevented him from eating and makes him very tired and hard

Is it too late?
Hi Everyone, New here. Around the end of 2020 early 2021 I was diagnosed with severe fatty liver through fibroscan f3. Doc wanted to further test by making me an appointment for a liver biopsy. Well, I guess me being in denial, stubborn and fairly young (41 then). I decided to just change my diet

Statins and PBC
I’m male and was diagnosed with PBC 12 years ago. I’m broadly asymptomatic but because of raised cholesterol levels (caused by PBC?) have recently been prescribed statins. I’ve read that statins shouldn’t be taken by anyone with liver disease and wonder if others have experience of this.

Should Alcohol Get a Worse Rap?
A bit out of the usual line of comment or 1uestion. Having never been a drinker ( can't stand the taste of it) I've always been bemused at what a big role alcohol plays in society. Her Levo has just been increased on 50 to 75 mcg. She is not on T3 or NDT. (I didn’t know about NDT until I came on this portal). She only

Happy days
just had a letter re my ultrasound which states that my liver looks a little fatty and there is no sign of any scarring. All my hard workh of dieting exercising and no alcohol has paid off and my appointment in six months will be to discuss if they need to continue with future fibroscans and ultrasounds

recurring aceties
my son has decompensated cirrhosis and goes to a hospice once a week to get fluid drained - he has a permanent drain fitted . He is getting worried as the last three weeks they’ve drained 5. 7. Then 8 litres. Does this mean his liver is getting worse ? I’ve read that a TIPS procedure could help -

Pace and Ablate - Symptoms of Heart Failure after pacemaker and AV node ablation
My pacemaker was inserted three weeks ago for symptomatic persistent a-fib that no longer responds to meds, cardioversion, or ablation. I had to wait for the AVN ablation since I am sensitive to silicone and the pacemaker parts are coated with it. I haven't had any rejection symptoms therefore my AV

Update
Spoken to GP at length this morning regarding this awful fatigue I am suffering from, and how awful I’ve felt since starting Amlodipine. He agreed reluctantly that as I’ve been slightly better since stopping Amlodipine a week ago he would remove it from my prescription, but has increased Cozar (Losartan

Anxiety Advice
Hi, I've always been prone to low grade depression, but had never suffered from anxiety until i tried to come off Paroxetine (Seroxat) in 2013, having been on it for a number of years. Even though i weaned myself off slowly over 18 months the anxiety was severe and eventually i gave up, went back on

specifically about DCD livers
I should start by saying my partner has some anxiety regarding medical issues and has been quite worried since being listed recently- I had asked before about various liver types. Is there anyone here who has received a DCD liver and can let me know the experience. He is very grateful to be offered
