Difficult week
Hello I’m having a difficult week. I’ve been in this cycle of having a regular pattern of good and bad days. It is now a year since my last admission and things aren’t much better. Except, after a change in medication (my lithium levels were low), my last cycle was much milder. I’m due another downswing

lorazepam
hi , I was given lorazepam 1 mg 3x a day for an episode of severe anxiety , do I stay on this now ? I was on diazepam and lithium for 5 years but hit a brick wall and stopped taking both , still on quietiapine but now lorazepam and it does really work like magic but once it’s worn off I’m there again

A question to lithium users
few people mentioned that they take 20 mg. In case of lithium orotate- 20 mg is summ of lithium and anion orotate, lithium is only 5 mg in the pill. However, some manufacturers put a label like lithium 20 mg on the bottle. So, when people say they take 20 mg, is it just a lithium or together with orotate

Raised calcium levels on prednisolone for pmr and long term lithium
my calcium levels are raised and have been for some time. At the last blood test they were 0.61. They have been 0.64. I’m not sure when the alarm bells will ring for the medical profession. A GP at our practice would not refer me to an NHS endocrinologist. I have been to see one privately. I have done

Any experiences of Lamotrigine for bipolar 2 depression?
I'm a 64 year old woman and got a diagnosis of bipolar 2 a couple of years ago. I haven't been on any meds until now, but am finally taking the plunge as the prolonged severe depressive episodes have made life untenable. I'm looking at options for meds and Lamotrigine seems to get good reviews for prevention

Coming back again for some lovely support 😊
Hello I haven’t been on here in a while but I need a boost of some of the wonderful wonderful support that I always get here. I had postnatal psychosis and a new diagnosis of bipolar last June 2022, and I haven’t been stable since then. My mood is now stuck in a pattern of n 10ish good days and then

OTC Lithium supplementation for PD
Hi all, just wondered if anyone is actively taking lithium and has noticed any benefits? Dr. Thomas Guttuso is a neurologist in the US who has been working with Parkinson's patients for 22 years. In his recent book, 'The Promise of Lithium', he gives quite a convincing rationale as to the potential

My husband doesn’t trust me
After my PP in October 2021, my lithium went out of therapeutic range in August 2022 and I ended up back in hospital for a month. This morning, my husband got out some sertraline to return to the chemist. I moved it from the buggy to my bag so it wouldn’t fall out. He insisted on going into the pharmacy

On Lithium, have hypothyroidism,no longer responding to T4 and less to T3. Starting low iodine diet.
I have just started a low Iodine diet as set out by a recent book advocating this to reset the thyroid for Hypothyroidism patients. I have been on Lithium by Bipolar for 15 years. 7 years ago I developed Hypothyroidism. Initially I partially responded to T4 but after 3-4 years I completely slowed down

Maternal Fetal Medicine
I have my first maternal fetal medicine appointment on Monday and I am experiencing some anxiety surrounding it. They are specialists that will be collaborating with my OB since this new pregnancy is high risk (due to 2022 late term loss and subsequent PPP, and then first trimester subchorionic hemmorhage

wondering about lithium orotate
I have recently been told, by a naturopath , that when receving B12 injections it is a good idea to take 5mg of Lithium Orotate daily. They felt it helped transport B12 out of the blood stream and into the cells. I am wondering if anyone else has heard of this? I don't know if it is some kind of scam

finished Neupro taper and looking for guidance on increasing my Gabapentin dosage
I’ve been taking Neupro 1mg and 400mg x 2 Gabapentin daily for my RLS. In the last 3 months I tapered off Neupro (1mg to 0.75 to 0.5 to 0.25 to 0) with my neurologist since I was experiencing more RLS symptoms despite being on Neupro. My RLS symptoms appeared most nights during the taper and I managed

Prior to this there was nothing to help me and for the past year I have been living with tachycardia and a heart rate of 150+ I have a typical flutter and a fib as well as heart

update on hubby
Hubby was feeling very bad earlier in the year from what turned out to be overdosing of levodopa when they changed him to the ER madopar. This caused severe rigidity even in his throat, agitation and sundowning in the evening, and eventually he kept trying to escape in the night to try and kill himself
