Memory, Cognitive Decline, AD, PD & Dementia And A Potential Way To Help Deal With Them Using "LO"
I know this has been discussed on the forum before, but I think it deserves repeating as it seems, from studies, that attempting to quell memory loss early on is a critical point that can sometimes mean the difference between success and failure in trying to keep memory intact and functioning at a good

Mind takes over
Hi everyone...I joined this group a few days ago. I have made several attempts to write posts on here but it gave me anxiety just to do that. So here I am today, finally able to type this out. I struggle with depression, anxiety and panic attacks, bipolar and ptsd. It wasn’t up until this year that

Need advice on medication treatment
Hi everyone! I had PPP in February of this year with no previous history of mental illness. It has been eight months and I was finally diagnosed with bipolar 1 due to my manic episode with PPP followed by months of anxiety and depression. Initially I was on zyprexa to treat the psychosis which worked

Recovery
Hi, I was hospitalized with pp for 37 days back in May/June this year. I have now weened off the antipsychotics, I am just still on lithium, but I still don’t feel at all like myself. I can’t take care of my kids or hold a conversation. Does anyone else have any recollection about how long recovery

Desperately need advice
Just tried another medication for my bipolar. This time it was lithium. Was only on it for two to three weeks and had side effects. It made me feel so sick like I had the flu. Stop that immediately. My psychiatrist started me on the lowest dose. It has been seven years since I've been diagnosed with

Dr. Minchley – naturopath focused on PD – Sharon's take
Dr. Minchley – naturopath focused on PD – my take I have nothing against naturopaths. Bastyr graduates some very competent naturopathic doctors who in recent years tend to lean towards alopathic medicine (drug and science based) rather than their traditional naturopathic focus which was using the natural

summary of a visit to my neurologist
Since I havent seen my neurologist in about TWO YEARS, I had a bunch of questions for him. here they are and here are his answers: Any value in genetic testing? No. Should we test my gut bacteria? No. Would Stem cell replacement be beneficial? Still experimental. No. Have you ever heard of the Marty

I can’t keep being a guinee pig it’s too hard! I think I’m going to switch from Lithium to Latuda. Can somebody give me any input on them? Lithium is not doing much... I barely get by. I always had good results on antidepressant but I think over the years it started to be bad for my health. Lots of side

Considering second baby
I’ve recently had a pre conception appointment and we are considering our options. Has anyone had their second or third etc without taking medication whilst pregnant. I have a diagnosis of Bipolar 1 so the psychiatrist has suggested weaning off Lithium and going back on to Olanzapine. if you have,

Blood test readings
I am still unclear about my blood results. Not sure if I need to be supplementing B12 or iron both of these were not highlighted by the lab but someone here suggested they were on the low side. My thyroxine is now down to 75mg since coming off lithium. It may still be too high but I won’t know until

Has anyone had to deal with the issue of stop taking the drug, Lithium, to delay dialysis or decided to stay on Lithium until her kidneys were destroyed, but felt a little better mentally in other ways? Lithium was a drug that helped me tremendously in my life, but in the end is destroying my kidneys

Sister's dialysis treatment
HI--I am a 59 year old male, I have been going with my sister to dialysis that she has been resistant to, but seems to be more willing to do lately. The resistance took forms of the care facility she is at requiring her to go to the hospital after 3 refusals. Yesterday went somewhat better; they had

CKD from lithium, info needed
Hi, new member here. Stage 4 CKD due to lithium treatment 30 years ago. There is very little info about this. Pretty rare, I guess. I'm trying to get an idea of prognosis. It doesn't seem to be just like CKD from diabetes, other causes? Electrolytes still good, but lots of symptoms, ill feelings. Nephrologist
