Hi everyone, My first post here. I’d be interested in opinions on my most recent Medichecks results. Levels have been a little erratic in the last couple of years with the smallest possible dose changes (+/- 25mcg per week). I also have IBS. I’ve been in the hypothyroid game a long time so I’m very

Ferritin update
Hello. As I mentioned before I have a monthly blood test. This time I asked for details regarding my ferritin levels. At my previous test it was 144. I believe that's a good reading. Thanks

Anyone read much about Thyroid and Alzheimer's connection?
Found a few papers which suggest they are linked and I wondered what the treatment is for Alzheimer's? Brother just been diagnosed but I know his fT3 is low and he doesn't convert T4 well

One more step along the road I go 🎵
I ‘piggybacked’ on someone else’s post yesterday - apologies - as it opened up a line of thought but which I was rightly advised to post separately. This is it. Could someone help harness my straying thoughts re converting T4 to T3? I’ve been on a low dose, 75mcgs levo for two years now, initially

Wash hands warm water, drank cup water at 5am, then 6am, then 7, & tested at 7.30, yet last wks which took 4 fingers to get enough for advanced thyroid check

Results Advice Needed Please
Hiya! I'd be most grateful if the wise owls of this forum can shed some light on my results, especially the vitamin tests. I am pretty much constantly symptomatic even though my thyroid results seem pretty optimal for NDT use. I also have early onset menopausal osteoporosis, which is being managed.

GP removed my T3 what now?
Hi I know others have mentioned this previously but I have just gone to order a repeat prescription to find that my T3 is missing from the list. I'm currently taking 75mcg Thyroxine too & noticed they have removed the 50's leaving me with 25mcg only which is ok I guess but expect its a cheaper brand

Misdiagnosis? Fibromyalgia or PA?
I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 19 years ago, but I wonder whether it was a misdiagnosis. I am still waiting for a PA diagnosis, but have been experiencing many of the symptoms of PA for months. Many of the tests I have done have shown low B12, low folate, low ferritin, all within range but low

Help please, where do I go from here??
Hi everyone, I have had my repeat bloods and everything has come back ‘satisfactory’. I know that doesn’t mean optimal but I also know I’m going to have a hard time convincing the doctor that! I had my free T4 and anti bodies tested at the hospital when I saw the consultant last week, I have requested

Flare after short synacthen test
I've been on Pred since April 2022, starting at 15mg and have reduced to 3.5mg - it has taken work, but I've used Dorset Lady's super slow reduction protocol and it has got me to where I am now. I had a short synacthen test 3rd July to see if I would be able to come off Prednisolone, but had to immediately

total knee replacement triggering RLS
I had a left knee replacement surgery April 10th this year. My right knee is also “bone on bone” from osteoarthritis and I’m dreading getting a second one as its been a rough recovery, and the RLS return has me worried too. 4 months out I’m getting stronger week by week although I’m definitely not

Hypothyroid to Hyperthyroid??
Hi all, I’m hoping someone here might be able to cast some light on what’s happening to me at the moment. I have been hypothyroid for the last 37 years and have been on 100mcg all that time, never any problems. However, my last routine checkup my blood tests came back and one of them was 64.4 just

What can my NHS GP test for ?
I can see that a thyroid panel is : TSH , FT4 , FT3, Thyroglobulin antibodies , Thyroid peroxidase antibodies . Can this whole test be ran by my NHS GP ? Has any one else had it done via the NHS my GP said he can only test for TSH but I’m not really in a position to be able to go and get a private test

Can levo cause low FT3?
Hi I am hypothyroid with Hashimoto’s, suspect both for decades but never tested/ treated until 2 years ago. I also took private tests at the same time and whilst my TSH and FT4 were both around 8, my FT3 was optimal. I was put on levo by GP and titrated to 100mcg but last autumn got worse, (also privately

Scams
Hello everyone! I wanted to just give a quick post on a scam I experienced here on a chat. It was back in December. I did not approach anyone they sent me a message through the chat.
