Liothyronine medication shortage?
My usual brand Sigma Pharma is out of stock with the pharmacies suppliers, so they have sent me compound version for my prescription instead. They always send me 5mg but I am on a 7.5mg dose (in combination with 125mcg of levo) This compound substitution was approved by my current endocrinologist.

So, I got my results and as I predicted, it came back with bradycardia. I'm a male, 26 yo, 74kg(160 pounds I think), caucasian. I take levothyroxine 50mg for subclinical thypothyroidism, escitalopram 20mg and valproate 500mg( for anxiety). My symptoms are classical symptoms of bradychardia, like dizziness

Starting trial of levothyroxine
Hi, this is my first post, looking for any advice. I have been unwell for several years now, lots of odd symptoms originally non specific, thyroid tested back in 2021 and was raised tsh , I don't have any numbers to share I was just told they were raised and that my tpo antibodies were also positive.

T4/T3 combo v T3 monotherapy
Hello, can someone fast track me towards content to considerations of T4/T3 combo versus T3 monotherapy. I am trawling Dr Google and found many references but nothing specific. Context. Good news after 4+ years struggling on Levo and a steady downward spiral in 2023 I took the plunge and self trialled

Good vitamins and supplements

I had a text yesterday from my GP Practice - a text mark you, not a conversation, a telephone call or heaven forfend , an appointment . New blood test
Hi all, please see my latest blood test results below, done at 9am, fasted, last dose of levo 24 hours before, ceased biotin, b12 and b complex supplements 7 days before the test. I was slightly over range on my last blood test result and SlowDragon advised me to retest in 6 weeks to see if still over

Doctor Listened and Agreed.
Yesterday I had a return visit appointment for something other than my thyroid. During the visit I told the doctor that the blood test taken the week before after a change in dosage was useless because only TSH and T4 had been tested, and that to make any sort of sense of it I needed T3 as well which

Can years-old injuries rear their heads when undermedicated?
Hi everyone, I’m interested to hear from you if you experienced or experience pain from old injuries when undermedicated for hypothyroidism. I’m wracked with pain everyday. It’s by far my worst symptom. Whilst the pain is widespread, it’s occurred to me that some of the worst affected areas are

Do you ever get properly well with hypothyroidism?
I’m a youngish person and just feel I won’t have decent quality of life ever again. I used to have a career I adored, was self employed, had hobbies, felt happy etc and now I just feel like I have nothing as it’s all stopped. If anything things have got worse on levo, no matter my doseage and adding

Flu, antibiotics and Levo
I’m recovering from quite a bad flu I’m having to take antibiotics 4 times a day, now this is my question. I’m having very severe headache they are worse after my dose of levothyroxine which I’m leaving the 4 hour gap with. Could it just be the antibiotic hasn’t knocked the headache part of the illness

A heads up regards being in hospital and on thyroid medication
The nurses were vague about the details so eventually I asked my consultant team to find out they were only giving me my
levothyroxine
and not the
liothyronine
which I've been on for at least five years! This was in consultation with my GP surgery too.

advice please
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 9 years ago whilst pregnant. I’ve been on 50mcg since then. It was only recently that I was seeing an osteopath at my gym and we started talking weight management. He said he thought I was under medicated. Anyway, thought about it and actually I have lots of symptoms

Worsening insomnia can anyone help?
I’ve recently reduced my Levo dose because my T4 was 93% through the range and I was having palpitations. I was on 100mcg so now on 75mcg 4 times a week and 100mcg 3 times a week. Energy wise this is actually the best I’ve felt so far. Unfortunately the insomnia has worsened in the last few weeks where

Bad Reaction to TEVA
I just had a bad reaction to TEVA Levo 50mg due to the Acacia Powder filler, GP changed prescription to Accord, but I also take Liothyronine (Morningside), I don't believe there is a brand of Lio (tablets) in the UK that doesn't contain Acacia, but that there is an oral solution. Does anyone have experience

Losing Lupus diagnosis
I was diagnosed in 2010 with lupus, and 2012 with secondary sjogrens, raynauds and antiphospholipid syndrome. I was also badly affected by light photosensitivity. I had in 1978 a pituitary apoplexy and as yet undiagnosed thyroid hormone resistance. There's been a total of 17 different diagnoses
