Should I increase my dose of Levo?
My potted history is in my profile. My current predicament is that after 7 months of feeling awful, on 5th July I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism (I could have told them earlier myself!), given Levothyroxine by the endocrinologist (50 micrograms per day), who said would test me again in two months.

Blood test with GP want to be armed with information
Hi I am due to have a blood test with my GP surgery for my thyroid. This is the annual one. I use a combination of levo and also use NDT which I source myself. My GP isn’t aware of my NDT nor do I have any intention of telling them. Every year since my old GP retired it is a constant battle to

which levothyroxine brands are made in 75 mcg?
just anticipating that if I accept the GP’s wish to try dropping down from 100 to 75 mcg levo. that I then don’t end up with an unsuitable brand …Teva is a no-no possibly due to acacia rather than mannitol…I suspect some lovely admin/ member has a list of such things… thank you.

thyroid test results
I wrote on here before about my results and you really helped. I’ve been trying to raise my ft4 and lower my tsh. I had been on 25mg levothyroxine and increased in increments of 25. After the first increase to 50 my tsh went down and ft4 up, increased to 75, first test after that ft4 rose slightly but

Medication advice please.
I had a total thyroidectomy in September last year and have happily been taking 125mg (100 and 25) of levothyroxine which has been Mercury Pharma brand only., as suggested by my consultant. My GP requests this brand on my prescription, however, my pharmacy has been unable to get the 25mg on my latest

helvella - Levothyroxine Brands History
This is pretty much 100% historic and for interest rather than use - though the information should be up to date for current products. Although the previous version of this document has been available for a long time, I have radically simplified it and made it easier to use. There are, inevitably,

Lower dose Lower mood😓
Hi I've lowered my dose of Levothyroxine from 125mcg to 100mcg experimenting! As thought I was going into 'hyper' territory. TSH well under 1.0 for quite some time too. However, and I've noticed this before, if I lower my dose, my mood plummets. I just start feeling a bit 'numb' for want of a better

Levothyroxine stopped postpartum
Hi all, new here 👋December 2022 I was feeling pretty rubbish, really low mood, spaced out and just generally unwell. I went to my GP and my bloods came back borderline underactive. In February I found out I was pregnant, during routine bloods I had a phonecall from the hospital saying I needed to

Anyone recent experience Carlisle NHS endos?
As a continuation of post the other day re high HR with Long Covid: Gp wants an endo involved to give blessing to his desire to reduce my levo. My private endo who I have seen by zoom during covid is rather expensive and needs paying to get an advisory letter from ( now use Roseway Labs prescriber scheme

Testing TSH
Just wondering if anyone else has been told after one blood test that their thyroid is stable and won’t retest for a year! I thought when you first started blood tests were meant to be done every 3 months. That TSH through GP was monitored. Quite surprised that they think I’m stable after one blood test

US scan results
Morning all. I have had my scan results back and my GP hasn’t explained anything about my results. Didn’t ask me any questions. Just review repeat scan in 6 months. I questioned calcification, he said small and couldn’t explain anything. Hasn’t offered any blood tests recent TSH is 1.5 and taking 75mcg

Safety of testing 8-12 hrs after last T3
I'm trying to understand the rationale behind testing 24 hrs after last levo and 12 hrs after last T3. I realise it gives a higher TSH and lower T3. My endo asks me to test 4 hours after T3. He has never discussed splitting dose so assume he thinks it will be my full dose (in my case 10mcg). If we
