Medication Management
Which brings me to my point.....given the often-stated link between long term
Levodopa
use and dyskinesia, and the lack of impact these meds may have had for me, I have been giving some serious thought to reducing C/L dose, then if no impact, considering eliminating.

Review of Genetic and Gene Therapy for Parkinson’s Disease
Under treatment, the primary and major treatment is to be done with
levodopa
preparations.
Levodopa
preparations give adverse effects with increased titer doses. In combination with
levodopa
, MAO-B inhibitors and anticholinergics are also given depending on the symptoms of the disease.

Zandopa and insomnia?
Has anyone found that zandopa causes insomnia, more so than prescription carbidopa
levodopa
or other forms of Mucuna?I have only tried zandopa a few times, but it seems that both times I had some wicked insomnia.

GABA Nutrientsupplement vs Gabapentin and other Prescription Drugs of the same order
The first medication was
Levodopa
100mg as usual. After about 2 years it didn‘t do anything for me anymore. My new medication was Pramipexol 0.088 mg, which for 6 months worked OK. Then continuesly insomnia set in and I was sleeping or better just dosing off for 1-2 h at night .

spasms
I am on muscle relaxants and tramadol for pain and carbidopa/
levodopa
for Pakinson like symptoms, none of which helped 2 nights ago and I ended up falling hitting my back and the back of my head. Last night I had severe spasms and went to ER.

carbidopa, levodopa and anal/rectal pain
I know this might be a little bit of TMI for some of you, but I have to know if anyone of you out there has ever experienced severe anal/rectal pain from using carbidopa
levodopa
? Especially from the time you take it until the time it seems to start to work?

How to reduce prolactin and increase AR success/longevity? L-Dopa and Vitex Berry?
Cabergoline reduces prolactin, which promotes prostate cancer mutation and growth. If a doctor will not prescribe Cabergoline, then would Mucuna (natural L-Dopa) extract and Vitex Berry extract have the same effectiveness as the cabergoline, in targeting and reducing prolactin? I recall someone on

COMT inhibitors
Hubby is doing really well at the moment and I think one of the things that has helped has been the introduction of 1/2 a entacapone tablet taken at the same time as his madopar/ mucuna doses. According to his genetic report his COMT appeared to be one thing that was functioning normally so I was a

Interesting Gender Research Findings RE: Levodopa Absorption Rates
Another interesting finding by Contin et al (2022) found a 20% higher absorption of
levodopa
in patients treated with
levodopa
/benserazide versus
levodopa
/carbidopa formulation. These are all important findings for women with Parkinson's.

Fast acting Levodopa?
My understanding is that
levodopa
needs to reach and be absorbed in the small intestine, so the drug needs much time to kick in. There are times however, when the
levodopa
is needed right away. Does anyone recall the post to have thoughts about getting
levodopa
absorbed faster?

Edited: PD increases chance of RLS.(yes) Azilect worsens RLS.(wrong) Ambroxol, being an antihistamine I believe worsens RLS.(incorrect)
Levodopa
increases augmentation meaning it makes RLS worse. So thinking Azilect does was not necessarily incorrect. If you have PD and develop RLS, well, it is horrid.
