Swollen ankle

I am 75 have pd from 2012. I take 1 rasagiline and 1/4 pill of dopicar/25mg carbidopa-250mg levodopa 6 times a day

I have pd symptoms on my left side.my ankle of the left foot is very swollen. The doctors don't know the reason. I would like to know if anyone has the same symptoms. and what is the reason for the swollen ankle

I also have continuous pain from my left ankle ( most affected side) and

it is slightly swollen, have been given exercises to do by my Physio, not

helping though, I am thinking now it just another PD problem along

with my contiguous fatigue, I am 77.

Hi Ramondo4, sounds like what is called Lymphedema, or something like that. I have swelling of both feet and ankles. I feel Parkinson's has a lot to do with it because I am not moving my legs enough and this throughout the day and moreso overnight which hampers my circulation. Walk as much as you can to keep the lymphatic circulation on the move. There is a machine Revitive Circulation Booster which might be of some help when used in the early stages...

Of course all I've said will not be much good if the pain you are experiencing is too strong and is due to inflammation and for which a liniment could bring relief.

What medication are you on .I am 75 4 years pd .I take 1 azilect . I used to take 2 p.k.merz and I am on 1 25/250 c/l the noirologist told me to stop the p.k.merz.that ca be responsibil for the swollen leg. But there is no change

Hi ruthgt

I am only on 3 x 25x100 sinemet plus each day so I could

only blame the sinemet if that was the cause, I have avoided

any other treatment so far, but then I may be wrong.
