Has anyone else noticed hormone requirement changing once you reach end-stage Hashimoto´s?
I expected to required T3 and T4 at this stage, but not only do I only seem to require T4, but also lower doses now than 20 years ago when I was diagnosed. Back then, an ultrasound showed my thyroid gland was of normal size, but that there was already extensive damage to the hormone-producing cells.

Help and advice please!
I have had PMR for 6 and a half years, with GCA after two years. Nearly 3 years ago I managed to reduce Pred. to 3.5mgs with a small amount of returning pain. I then had a rheumatologist appointment and was told that according to blood test results, PMR was gone and the pain and fatigue I was experiencing

Too much Levothyroxine?
Hi, just wondering what anyone thinks of this or has had something similar. I received 50mcg Levo after I had a level of TSH 4.87 (0.27 - 4.20) Serum free T4 11.6 pmol/L (9.0 - 26.0) Free T3 5.2 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) this took me to TSH 2.68 (0.27- 4.20). Serum free T4 level 15.4 pmol/L (9.0 - 26.0

Treating Low Cortisol
Hi again all, I saw someone mention that ideally one would treat adrenals before thyroid. I took the saliva test a while ago which showed low morning cortisol and OK DHEA. I’ve read in STTM / Dr S Myhill site and on other site and book that a small amount of hydrocortisone can help with this. For

T3 woes
I am having problems with my T3. I have been on 2.5mcg twice a day for 10 weeks now as any time I try to raise it I have problems. Latest blood test showed TSH still 1.76 (0.35-4.5) T4 14 (12-22) T3 4.4(3.1-6.8) I'm obviously still under medicated so last week I decided I had to try again so I upped

Puffy face with adrenavive II
I posted here a few months ago with problems relating to low cortisol & DHEA and lowish ft4. I’ve had quite a journey so far and suffice to say, my GP has been absolutely no help except suggesting I have CFS and might I want some anti-depressants? No, I don’t, I’m not depressed, but I’m really tired

Extremely low fasting blood sugar reading.
I’ve always tended to low blood sugar readings 54-66 fasting. Non fasting it’s about 70. Even on prednisone the condition persists. My sister has the same problem and needs to eat between meals. Today my blood sugar fasting was 42(!), This was 12 hours past a decent supper. No diabetes either side of

Cortisol Test
Just a quick question my endocrinologist has arranged a blood cortisol test at 8:30am on Tuesday. Are the blood and saliva tests the same or is one more accurate than the other? My thyroid results have been off since July this year, I have hypothyroidism and Hashimotos last TSH was 12!
