And what did you do to sort out the low low low and high adrenals? They need to be sorted before you have any hope of ticking over nicely. Do you track your average temperatures every day so you can see how the adrenals are doing? Download a how to do it chart from. drrind.com/metabolic-temper...
At that time I took HC in addition to a t3/t4 compound... HC helped for a week or two then stoped working so I stopped it because I didn’t want to be dependent on it
Actually my hypo situation is quite weird because in spring and summer I can leav without any medication. But as soon as autumn and winter arrive I totally fall apart :;
I took hc for over a year, tapering off very slowly. Maybe time for you to start seriously doing the temperature plotting so you can at least see what those adrenals are up to.. if you arent taking meds through summer, maybe you have depleted all your t4 stores?
Well levothyroxine, t4 is a storage hormone. Your body stores it and when you need some energy its converted to t3 . If you dont take any thyroid hormones at all, eventually all of the storage hormone will be used up. However if taking it is making you feel worse, have you looked at the ingredients in the brands you are taking? The reason that some people feel better for not taking thyroid medication, is apparantly because adrenals jump in to bolster us up. But yours are running below par so no chance.
I struggled with weight loss for years and years, Working out with a trainer left me completely worn out. Then i did a 23 and me gene test, downloaded my raw data, checked it and found i have a oroblem with methylation, which is why i cannot get on with some meds and why my folate levels were dropping. I took methyl folate, got my levels up and 2 stones vanished as if by magic. Back on again, but i havenpbeen a bit lazy recently.
If you have an mthfr problem watch like a hawk that you dont get folic acid...... i was just ordering methyl b12 from amazon and found some new cheap ones, double checking the ingredients showed folic acid! I have gone back to swansons. I gave up Gluten almost 2 years ago , made a huge difference to energy and bloating. I got caught out last November and it made me feel dreadful. Tired, hot,sweaty, bloated and dire rear.
I have been on thyroid meds for well over 30 years. Ndt for the past 10 years, T3 and t4 for 10 years and before that t4 only. I prefer ndt, but self fund it. As its difficult to find, am considering a try of t4. Maybe. Am ok for another year, but, after that, who knows.
