Feeling guilty for using pain meds.
Currently on a 2 year waiting list for endometriosis removal and hysterectomy. Been dealing with this for over 12 years and I'm done. I work 50 hours plus a week and doing everything i can to keep afloat. After trying every pain medication under the sun, unfortunately the only kind that gives me relief

Becoming a grumpy old git !
Hi all, Just an enquiry .... one of my rare ones. It concerns a possible side effect of medication. In the last 6 months or so I have changed three precribed medication. I list these as below ....
Simvastatin
was started in mid 2007 and taken continuously until, my Surgery Pharmacist asked

Migraine and trimethoprim
I recently suffered a urinary infection and GP prescribed trimethoprim. Three days into course I developed severe migraine with aura, feeling generally very unwell and increasing neck pain and stiffness. I persevered with tablets but migraine aura recurred every few hours and the pain was unbearable

I’m currently trying the birth control patch to see if it lessens my tummy pain. This is the second week of the second month and the 3rd week starts on Tuesday. The first month I started the patch in the middle of my natural cycle cause I was getting daily pain in my tummy and my doctor thought it would

Endometriosis pain
My 18 year-old daughter is severely affected by the pain of endometriosis. She currently takes paracetamol, voltarol /naproxen. However, they seem to be of limited help. Could anyone share with me succesful experiences with pain killers? I am considering taking her to a pain clinic but not sure how

I have lower back pain after a strenuous evening of indoor climbing. What pain killers can I take in addition to the steroids I’m on. Many thanks

Getting Off of Painkillers
I started seeing a pain management doctor about 4 years ago for severe lower back pain. One of the first things she did was put me on 5 mg Hydrocodone four times a day and gave me a steroid injection. Over the years, I have had several radio frequency ablations and a handful of steroid injections. The

A walking revelation for running C25K
I started C25K a little over 12 years ago now. And I started because a) I had found myself at the obese end of the NHS BMI chart b) a hormonal shift had either caused or coincided with being able to be a little more active than previously and I was well aware that having a disorder that compromises

So. IV had fibromyalgia since Oct 2021 after an accident at work left me with it,took forever to diagnose blah blah. Vasospastic angina pain relief
Hi folks, Just wondering if anyone has been prescribed decent pain relief to take at home instead of having to call an ambulance? I’ve been admitted 5 times in the last 14 months with severe pain due to VSA which the GTN didn’t touch. Mine can last almost all day and go on for several days at a time

is this neuropathy?
As explained in previous posts I have two spinal fractures from X-ray January. Pain still bad and osteoporosis nurse pressed me to get stronger painkillers. Last week GP gave me 30mg codeine, taking with paracetamol but only slightly improved things. Pain is unpredictable, suddenly excruciating, shooting

New Rheumatology Referral - hope it comes through quickly!
Hello folks, I’ve had fairly mild Reynaud’s for a long time and have more recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia due to ongoing raised glands, pain & fatigue without infection/ inflammation. This was after seeing a rheumatologist who did a thorough examination, in-depth interview and blood/urine tests

Three weeks after open heart surgery
During the day I feel ok, walking around, doing light jobs around the house. In the morning I feel sore and struggle to get out of bed, in the evening I have a painful pain across my left breast, ribs and down my back and continues even after taking painkillers.
