Blood clots in calf
Has anyone had issues with blood clots (superficial vein thrombosis) in their legs? In April I thought I’d just pulled a calf muscle but on the advice of my Pilates teacher (!) saw my GP who immediately prescribed blood-thinning medication and sent me off to the emergency hospital clinic the next

Advice please on paroxysmal afib
Hi all, I was diagnosed with lone AF in 2020. I think most of you are familiar with my story. My episodes (very symptomatic) were about every 4 months lasting up to 36 hours before reverting back to NSR. I have started to have them more frequently so went for an ablation which was scheduled for this week

Palpitations worse after ablation
Good evening everyone, I’m really struggling after my catheter ablation 10 days ago. The palpitations and ectopics I’m experiencing are awful. So different to the palpitations I was having before my ablation. They are very erratic. I have Dilated Cardiomyopathy and AVNRT. I know it’s early days

Elevated Cholesterol
Hello, Just had my cholesterol results back and they are quite elevated. Just wondering whether anyone else has elevated Cholesterol and just taking Aspirin watch and wait? Fortunately my Triglycerides are good. I tried Atorvastatin in 2018 but had to stop after 6m due to severe muscle aches. No

gobsmacked
I can't believe they won't prescribe Subutex to a suffering chronic pain sufferer, but freely give it out to drug addicts.......I'm just gobsmacked. There is a drug out there that could potentially stop me from jumping off a bridge but they won't give it to me. They look at me as if I'm a drug seeker

Palpitations
Hi all. Just had a horrible weekend , fast irregular heart rate, lasted over 1 hour . Of course it had stopped by the time I was monitored, so they didn't really have any record . Spent 2 nights in EAU wired up , lots of ecgs bloods etc. They reassured me it wasn't a heart attack . The flutters continued

microscopic blood in urine.
Hi (sorry for a long one) I am a 34 year old Female and have recently had trouble with bowels and abdomen pain, so I saw my GP for that and while she wasn’t interested in that (put it down to IBS), she was very interested in the fact I have had Microscopic Haematuria in my Urine in the past. I was

An opera written for/by and performed by PWP!
Hi all I'm posting this as a bit of light relief. If you like this kind of thing I think it might be therapeutic and empowering to watch it - for enjoyment, like I've seen art or poetry by PWP posted here before. Here in the UK singing for Parkinson's is becoming a bigger and bigger thing. My local

Counterfeit supplements are being sold on Amazon and reports of this have been increasing lately. For example, in April 2023, two supplement companies, NOW Foods and Fungi Perfecti, separately reported counterfeit versions of their products sold on Amazon. Fungi Perfecti discovered 23 different sellers

Liver Biopsy Negative can it still be PBC?
I had elevated Alkaline Phosphate of 146, ALT (SOGT) of 45 and a positive ANA with a titer of 1:320 so my primary doctor sent me to a gastroenterologist. He thought I just had fatty liver but did more bloodwork and scheduled me for an ultrasound, He called when the labs came back and said he wanted tod

Serum gamma-glutamyl transferase level
I had a blood test conducted by my GP surgery. One of the test, not my normal profile, was this: Serum gamma-glutamyl transferase level (XaES3) 118 iu/L [reference range 0 - 59] I do understand that it's a liver test, and my other LFT's were normal. Any incite to the meaning of this test in respect

liver ast/alt
Good day, i recently got Bloodwork done. My billirubine was raised 71u/mol and AST 81. My ALT was 25, GGT normal and ALP also. I was a binge drinker for 15 years. Never drank daily. My fear is cirrhosis, with the ast alt ratio. Have had 2 ultrasounds that were complete normal and 1 MRI with out contrast

New to all this.
Im a 47yr old male and have recently been having blood tests after displaying all the standard underactive thyroid symptoms including huge fatigue. After being put on 25mg levothyroxine (to get me started on medication), the most recent tests showed a TSH of 3.6 (coming down from 6.2 on previous test

sorry, me again with another question
After a cardio version does anyone still stay on bisoprolol . Paul is on 2.5 mg now but his heart rate is averaging mid to late fifties . I’m just wondering if he needs to be on a lower dose or it’s ok as his heart is resting . His walking average on his watch is 75 which is great compared to mid 100s
