Jakavi and anaemia
Two months ago I started taking Jakavi which wonderfully eliminated several symptoms but has caused anaemia leaving me tired and breathless. I get very cold and shivery. Do others have these problems? A small infusion of iron had no effect.

Myelofibrosis and using medical CBD/ marijuana.
Got really sick and was put on 20 mg of
Jakafi
6 months ago now the medication is failing. Got off of Vicodin because of new medical laws, was recommended CBD and Medical Marihuana in Vape form only. Every time I use it my spleen start hurting right after running out of time.

Would you argue to switch to Jakafi even if HU is working OK ?
Is there anyone here who would argue for moving to
Jakafi
even though HU has worked well for the patient ? If yes then why ?

Polycythemia and Jakafi
I got some bad mouth sores and my doctor put me on
Jakafi
. My CBC showed platelets at 340 10(3), White cells at 14.1 10(3), and RBC at 4.31 10(6) when I started 10mg/day
Jakafi
. I went in for my 2 week check up and my white cells were at 89 10(3) and platelets at 1630 10(3) and RBC at 4.27 10(3).

Jakafi side effects
I got on
Jakafi
for the itching, and that’s been great. But my immune system has gone to hell—weird infections, bimonthly bronchitis, painful heel bursitis that I think might be related. I’d love to be on
Jakafi
in summer and hydroxyurea in winter. I’m going to see the hematologist next week.

I would love your input please with regards to my hematologist is considering change of my meds from Hydrea to
Jakafi
. This is the first time that it will be used for polycythemia. It has been used in cases of high risk myelofibrosis.

MF, Jakafi, and Osteosclerosis
My set of questions are: 1- Does
Jakafi
hinder or slow the Osteosclerosis down? 2- Can this Osteosclerosis retract somehow after the HCT (Transplant)? 3- How much does the MF-3 level of bone fibrosis impact the overall survival after the HCT?

Anyone with Post ET/MF & Budd Chiari?
As soon as I can sort out my health insurance; my doctor wants to start me on
Jakafi
. Can anyone tell me if they know if
Jakafi
has negative effects on the liver? I feel as though I'm in a juggling act to protect my remaining liver function and fight my blood cancer.

hip replacement with jakafi controlled polycythemia
I am 71 years old. for a year I have had worsening troubles with my hip. I've followed the protocol to heal with physical therapy, shot in hip, RICE etc. Two weeks ago I was told by my orthopedic surgeon that I need a hip replacement since I had a congenital, inherited hip the in need of a change!

Spleen size
After several years of stable enlarged spleen it has recently jumped from 16cms to 19cms despite 15mg Jakavi twice daily. I am in the process of trying to get Pacritinib trial a bit closer to home but urgently need the next development on the meds scene! Despite my spleen’s enlargement it’s not doing
