Is there anyone here who would argue for moving to Jakafi even though HU has worked well for the patient ? If yes then why ?

Would you argue to switch to Jakafi even if HU is working OK ?
I switched because my itching wasn’t controlled by hu. Luckily my US insurance covers it and I pay $20/month. And itching is much much less.
HU did not stop the itching.
Jakafi did and fast.
Thankyou for the reply. Yes there were others who also experienced the same. Good enough treason to switch to jakafi I guess ..... since the itching can get quite intense sometimes .
I wanted to add that I have tried both and could not take hydroxyurea.
I had a few side effects when starting Jakafi but they lessened in time.
Good luck.
Thankyou for your input. Please let me know (if possible of course ) what were the reasons you felt HU was not agreeing with you.
After a few days on the hydrea, a developed sores around my ankles and still had the itching.
I had researched hydroxyurea beforehand and was not thrilled with the side effects reported, although there are some who have no side effects.
Thankyou . It really helps to get real opinions such as yours rather than rely on what little is available as the standard info ........
You are welcome.
